  1. I can't speak for Shannon, but just about everyone in the industry is scrambling right now.
  2. Where are you? I have installed both the military and civilian kits. The weapon will fire when folded no matter which kit you have. The kits do not come with the linkage for the 'no folded fire' feature.
  3. It is likely about 19-3/16". There really isn't much to gain there without going SBS. I'd leave it as-is. If you are just bored and pretty good with your hands maybe it is worth it, but it definitely wouldn't be worth it to pay someone else to do it.
  4. I am not aware of anything that would be an easy install. Finally, I got to see a Tromix 8" SBS intimately and I was replacing the handguard with a bobbed Tapco unit. It was a lot of work, but turned out good. The customer wanted some rails and didn't want to modify the original handguard. Not my style, but I thought it looked at home with the SAW grip and 8 rounder.
  5. Here in the US, at least, the AK100 kits don't even come with the 'no fire when folded' linkage. The kit installs just like the military version.
  6. That was actually the first customer who let me do Evl Grade as it is supposed to be. It turned out so nice I made a banner of it and it is the center piece in my showroom.
  7. That was when my hands were still good. I hope I can get back there someday.
  8. They are. The left keeps breeding gun owners with their nonsense. The whole nation is frosty.
  9. Sounds like his gun already runs phenomenally. I'm not sure what the problem is.
  10. Pauly, is that you? If so, I hope things are going great for you. I don't agree with your opinions, but you are entitled to them. Understand me, you will not damage my business no matter what you say or do. You didn't make me and you definitely will not break me. My Father gave me this business. My customers pay what I charge for what I do because the difference has no equal and is absolutely measurable. I pour out my heart in these builds and the customer can see and feel the love in it. I do have more basic service offerings, but few want that. You are free to have whoever you
  11. I think it did lock, but there was something different about it.
  12. The front latch isn't all that hard. The work at the rear is where most people make their mistakes. You will do fine if you are actually going slow enough to measure things and think about what you are doing.
  13. Email me and give me some detail about what is wrong with the barrel. I may ask you to text me some pics. I have spare barrels. Maybe we can work out a trade/cash deal. evlutionz@yahoo.com
  14. S17 8" SBS usually goes for $2k to $2.5k or so. I'd be surprised if anyone bit at a starting bid of $1600 on a non-SBS, right now. You never know though. He's not making anymore as far as I know and Russian guns that are unmodified or well built are getting a bit scarce. However, Kalashnikov USA and SDS are making the scarcity of Russian Saiga-12s a non-issue. Start it at the minimum you would take for it. If it doesn't sell then you might be forced to sit on it or lower it. To further throw a wrench in things there are a lot of people who have zero fun money right now. Good luck with the sal
  15. Having a few more Russian parts on a gun is not worth a federal sentence. Do as you will. When they decide they are interested in an individual they will be charging that person with everything they think will stick and then some. That individual will then cop a plea to have all of the lesser charges dropped and still serve 10 years. Not worth it.
  16. You need an AK100 kit from wherever you can find one and a Saiga-12 front latch from AKbuilder.com. You may have a very hard time finding a triangle stock though. Most likely you will need to buy a poly AK100 kit and then get a triangle stock later. I have some of them, but I am not sure I want to sell them. It will require some cutting, but it sounds like you are a detail guy, and it isn't rocket science. Even if it doesn't turn out great at least you had the stones to do it. If you absolutely hack it up you have done as well as two well respected 'professionals' that I know of.
  17. All of mine except 2 have PSA uppers and barrels. There is no better value for quality gear.
  18. The puck is good for thousands upon thousands of rounds. Something else is wrong.
  19. I'm pretty sure I had this crap in December. I ran a fever off and on for a few days. That coupled with some other issues was really clobbering me. I had a dry cough for weeks and never thought much about it. A lot of people around here are saying they had a similar experience before this stuff got sensationalized.
  20. Where there is more flesh there is more bruising and soreness. If the butt is on your shoulder or pectoral muscle it will tear you up. Put the butt on your collar bone and lean forward until the most surface area of the butt is making contact.
  21. I have a lot of trunnions. $25 shipped for a S12 takeoff or send me the gun and I will provide and install a trunnion for $80. You provide return shipping. Email me if you need some help.
