As I understand it, there is at least a slight difference from how one might modify one to work in a Saiga or Vepr. CSS sells them specifically modified for Lynx. I haven't gotten to the point in my workload where I'll be doing anything to a Lynx yet. I'm still eyeball deep in Saigas and Veprs. A good start would be to remove your Lynx FCG and compare it to a Tapco G2 FCG. That's usually how I start, by eyeball first and then document relevant measurements taken by calipers.

Look at the left side of the barrel hood. That is likely what it is contacting. There is supposed to be a slight bevel on the hood. It may be a fine detail they have missed.

Well, with certain parts redesigned it might be ok. I have had one here for a good while and haven't had time to address everything about it that needs attention. I hope to catch up soon and devote some time to it.

For me, it is a mainly a matter of comfort. I don't like the feel of the recoil impulse when I am all of the way down where I can see the sights and I have fired enough to hit with these things without sights, which is admittedly quite a bit compared to most users. Really though, it doesn't take much effort to point shoot with non-slug loads at close distance with a little practice, assuming it is done fairly often. On top of that, the sights aren't all that generous a means of aiming. After noticing how long it had been since I had actually used sights on these I decided the value of decreased snag potential and a cleaner look was greater than the use of the sights that probably were not where the weapon would hit anyway due to the lack of reasonably precise alignment on these things. I trained past not having sights long before I didn't have them I do have one with sights (IZ-433), but have never fired it. It just sits waiting for me to figure out what to do with it.

If you are easy on things and need to use the gun for something that would require more accurate aim then the 108 sight is fine. However, I have seen a couple of them broken or missing parts and it is pretty hard to find that stuff now in the US at least.

PSA pistol lower with SBA3 brace, Geissele 2 stage trigger (pick one), PSA 12" 6.5 Grendel upper, a decent 8x or greater optic that isn't too large (Primary Arms 1-8x with ACSS is nice for the coin), and a YHM Resonator. I am actually wanting to do this, but my miserly boss refuses to pay me enough to have any fun money.

Starting Wednesday night 04/11/2019, I will be taking a week off from communicating. Thursday after next I will start working on the backlog of comms between now and then. I do appreciate your patience and understanding.

wheres that pic of md's smaller provile drum??
Yeah, let's see that. This crap SGM 25 rounder can't keep up. Does a really good job of dust collecting though.

Manage recoil, shoulder has a lot of flesh (more flesh = more sore and bruising).

Oh and chaos offers a low profile sight as does Kel tec for their foldy rifle. Those are the best options that I am aware of. I did a lot of overthinking of this a few years back, and the original rear sight is still sitting there. I should probably fix that.
Best fix = knock out sight, weld dovetail full and blend. File front off

There isn't enough left on the Tapco G2 to make it like a factory hammer. Factory hammer is a better profile.

I agree, it's a little weird. I don't have any interest in a pistol caliber AK, but years ago I would have been all over it. They waited too long, lol.

The market being so down should really help bring new items and innovation. The 9mm AK’s from K-USA should be a damn hot seller. Little pricy right now though... Their next step is going to be a AK-103. I think that is a mistake. They should have focused on an AK-107 if they wanted to wow us. I can only yawn at another 103...
The shockwave was a huge success. They sold 50,000 or so in the the first 8 months of it’s release. New and cool... They need to get a magfed semi released. Bet they would easily sell 100,000 or more the first year. Hell, maybe that many of a semi magfed shockwave configuration alone...
Well, others are beating them to the punch on the 9mm. Even PSA has one now.

Seriously scratching my head on why they didn’t rethread the barrel on this gun. But I guess I scratch my head on why they kept the same flawed gas plug when they built the base gun as well...
They knew people would be sending them to me for radically short AOW builds, so the barrel was getting chopped and threaded anyway

I would be surprised if they entertain that idea. Most of these companies will keep selling it the easiest way as long as it sells. Most will wait to improve things until the item runs out of gas sales-wise before they would even give it a second thought.

I view them as weapons. They are not only used as a weapon, but that is the fundamental purpose of them and they will be the first thing we would like to have in our hands should things go bad. Basically, if I could only grab one pistol, one rifle, one shotgun, and roll, those would be my choices. They all feel just like home.

Practical purpose and fun: S12/vepr, The AR as a generic idea because it is generally good, and is a good platform for me to tinker around on, TBD I like SA/DA 9mm. So far the berettas and clones seem as shootable or better than most of the others I have tried, but I don't love the control placement, and the grips are a bit wide.
I do like the S&W M&P line up in general. Probably more practical than the all metal DA/SA stuff. Just not as special feeling.
Probably the S&W 66 6" is the most satisfying handgun for me to shoot though. And I really enjoy the feel of the old long recoil shotguns like Browning auto 5, Most rifles to me, are kinda blah from a kinesthetic standpoint. But the ~10" 300 BO pistol or SBR with subs just feels fun to shoot. Hard to explain. It just feels happy and easy to use well.Even nicer with a can, which I really want.

All depends on what the job is at the time.... guns are tools. And ALLLLL of mine are my faves, ....lol. But, I will agree on the S12 for my shotty.... I trust my life on it.

They don't have to be factory built, none of mine are.
Pistol: Glock (it works and there isn't a lot of crap on it)
Rifle: AR15 (kind of hard to argue with the ergos and modularity of this)
Shotgun: Saiga-12 (I am not aware of anything that even comes close to the durability and potential of the Saiga-12)

LOL! $20 shipping... whatever, I need one on hand

That's it.
I think I'm about to order that tap too. Even Saiga-12 gas blocks are a bit goofy. This could save me some time.

Can't believe I found it.

Assuming it is the same, threads are 21x1.0 RH. It may be a pain in the arsenhoffler to find that tap for a fair price.
-
There is a cause to everything. From here, it looks like the pin was drilled at an angle instead of horizontally. Where this pin is visible on the outside of the gas block does it look like the hole is much higher on the left side of the gun than the right side. If it is in there at an angle and the cause of the thread issues a tap should cut threads in the pin just fine, but if the pin is ever removed it is going to have to go back in exactly like it came out or you will need to run a tap through it again.
I have a pretty busy day today, but if I can remember I'll check a Saiga-12 gas regulator and see what the threading is.

Winchester AA loads commonly found at Walmart vary from 1200 to 1300 fps. I'd buy a box of 1200 fps, 1250 fps, and 1300 fps and see which is the weakest it will run then go back and stock up. It should easily run Win AA 1300 fps. If it doesn't, there is something wrong with it or something wrong with the way you are supporting the weapon.
