  1. winchester super x are real accurate through my s12.
  2. +1 on turning the plug out the extra 360 deg if 3 is the first setting you get when bottomed out. my tromix wont fire che@p lo@ds on setting 3 unless i go the extr@ 360. i think the ports are slightly blocked when the plug is bottomed out @ setting 3 (gunfixers)
  3. wow.im drooling. i have been waiting for something like this ever since i retired the halo quad in favor of the chaos ex-quad. very nice indeed. when can we buy some and how much are you projecting they will cost???
  4. lets not forget the fact that the street sweeper is a revolver.i think this is what actually scares them. no tracabale evidence left behind = the perfect weapon for committing crimes . i think that makes them seem a little extra destructive in many peoples eyes.
  5. I have seen a notable increase in the amount of rounds i can fire before puck fouling begins to hinder cycling. i also second the fact that the crud flakes off very easily from the recessed areas in the twister puck. however, i would still like to try the ka puck. the consensus seems to be that the ka is the best.....
  6. does anyone know where i could score a new rear peep sight for my halo?? could anyone make me one?? i dont even run the halo anymore, but i would like to have it runnable if possible. any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks in advance
  7. loosening the screws on an agp mag fixes the symptom not the problem. the problem area in the agp mags are the rails where the high brass portion of the shell rides. sanding or scraping a conservative 16th of an inch from these areas makes them run 100% and you can keep your screws nice and tight. while you are in there, smooth up any areas that have excess plastic left by the molding process (including seams on the follower). i highly recommend this mod to anyone running agp magazines. all 13 of mine run flawlessly now and my bottle of graphite is gathering dust on the back shelf.
  8. the patterning thread on this page has a link to a youtube vid that shows some pretty impressive patterns with the rio buck through a saiga12.
  9. agp mags work great, but i have never had one (i have 13 btw) that didnt need to be disassembled and sanded down to work perfect with all loads. some of them fed low brass fine but couldnt keep up with the bolt using high brass untill i did some sanding/scraping on the rails where the high brass portion of the shell ride. takes about 10 minutes per mag to make them run flawless. never tried surefire mags, but i think the agp's feed as well as the factory mags, although they are less durable (hence should be considered less reliable) than the russian mags. if you want the best, the russian 8 r
  10. thanks for taking the time to do this. informative and much appreciated
  11. great job! i cant seem to find the thread right now, but not too long ago, someone recommended using a (mill?) instead of a drill bit to eliminate rough edges inside the barrel that can collect shavings of plastic from the wad. seemed like a pretty good idea to me. if anyone remembers exactly what the bit in that thread was called feel free to refresh my memory.
  12. pads are for pussies....according to stayfree.com
  13. yes. they are all like that. i am curious to hear how those huge ports work out for you. mostly interested in how many rnds you can shoot before fouling the gas system. i think tromix made alot of sbs's with only 1 enormous port.
  14. that looks awesome bob. i really like the butt. lol i just realized that i have your gun as my screen saver :lolol:now it looks like i gotta update it....
  15. if you dont mind me asking, how much did that bad boy set you back?
  16. +1 you bring up a valid point. pressure does not equal recoil or velocity . there are low brass loads that generate higher breech pressures than magnum loads and dont kick at all. this is mostly due to the speed at which the powder burns.ultra fast powders like hodgdon clays are capable of generating pressure spikes that will blow up your gun while producing less than half the recoil of an identical load using almost twice as many grains of slower powder that will kick you hard while generating safe pressure. an example aa hull,1 1/8 oz shot, 18.1 grains of clays, cci 209, waa12 (11,
  17. if you dont mind shelling out the dough, i think its hard to beat an eotech for clays. i always kinda sucked at shooting clays but now i bust almost every one. in fact, target aquisition is so fast with these, that lately i have been using a tight choke setting and closing my eyes and counting one mississip after i say pull so its still a challenge. to quote my younger brother who still has his eyesight, "thats almost too easy"
  18. it is my humble opinion that a properly gassed s12 will handle ALOT of magnum loads before it wears out. granted, running 3" loads will probably wear out your s12 faster than running medium or low brass, but if it is not overgassed it should hold up to a shitload of magnum rounds before giving up the ghost. to quote a wise forum member "the russians didnt design this gun so that their military could bombard their enemies with walmart birdshot". izmash states that setting 1 is for magnum loads and potent 2 3/4" rounds. and setting two is for everything else. the main reason people struggl
  19. 1500 seems steep considering the sub-standard rail. i mean is the utg even that much cheaper to buy than the chaos?? makes me wonder what else was skimped on????
  20. I use a Lee 10z slug mold. They aren't rifled, but they are ever so slightly smaller in diameter than usual so they will have no problem passing through a choke. (for those not sure, Slugs don't fly true because of rifling, they fly true because of their shape, and the rifling primarily helps them squeeze through a choke) +1 rifling on a slug does not make it spin. it is to allow them to be fired through weapons with tight chokes without damaging the gun. the rifling just gives the slug room to swage down. i get in an argument about this with some know it all at least once a month
  21. thanks for all the info guys! it is awesome to hear that tromix will be taking orders every month. this will make your customers very happy looks like either tony or jack will probably be getting the job.......
  22. i know it is a big job but that is exactly what i want. a mid comp racegun that can cycle super light loads using the cheaper and faster burning "clays" powder which i have a ton of, and still leave me the option of going nfa if i want without any additional work to the gas system. i considered the r+r but i dont really care for the way they look. i think tony says full length gas systems and sbs is "asking for trouble" if i remember correctly. i didnt know folks were making full length gas system shorties. i gotta go check out this chaos cutie.....
  23. Why would you want anyone but Tony to work on it? unfortunately i wont have cash for this project until mid may and by then i am afraid i will have missed the window for getting another tromix
  24. There are no replacement parts. Even Tom has to cannibalize a gun to get warranty parts. suposedly, (according to raa) replacement parts will be available soon. sure would be nice to be able to get parts without butchering a good gun
