  1. Here's a site to browse. Hope this thread hasn't been hijacked. http://johnrlott.blogspot.com/2009/04/self-defense-shootings.html
  2. Remember, when using a weapon for home defense, you are using LETHAL force to STOP an intruder from doing harm to you or your family. If someone is not comfortable with the thought of potentially taking a human life to save his own then maybe guns are not the answer. I definately would not consider non-lethal ammo. The point is to permanently stop the invasion and remain alive and unharmed. As long as I'm using legal, off-the-shelf ammo, I personally wouldn't have any concerns with the name of it. Find out what the police in your area use. If it's good enough for them to use on violent o
  3. Anyone know of anyplace that does conversions on the S12 in the Austin, TX area? It's getting close to that time and I'm not going to try it myself.
  4. +1 Yep, good point. And it wont be North Vs. South, it'll be the Idiots in the cities(those dumb enough to stay when the SHTF) and everyone else. Please do explain how your house in the middle of nowhere is so defensible. But first watch this!!! You really don't want to be considered an enemy or a threat by anyone. You're best bet in surviving a civil uprising is to lay low and do your best to protect home and family against roving bands of morons, city dweller or redneck. Both sides will end up getting spanked pretty badly. If the people in uniform roll by, just wave!
  5. I just got a new S12 a few weeks ago and am already overwhelmed with all the cool stuff out there. Just a couple quick questions if you don't mind. Will your LRBHO work on an unmodified S12? Will it work when I finally get it modified? Lastly, will it work with with a magwell conversion? I'm gonna do the LRBHO first and it will decide the rest of my conversions! Thanks in advance.
  6. yes 2 last year but one died right before christmas so that leaves 1 I thought I heard on the radio the last one died recently. A British guy. They made a big deal about it.
  7. Thanks for the explanation. If people ask what it is I just tell them it's an 870 anyway. Now I'm saving my pennies to do up my S12 the proper way.
  8. Read this : http://www.statesman...ons-186641.html OOOOPPPSSS!!!! Someone posted it already!!!!! Too much of a hurry to throw my 2 cents in!
  9. As Saigafreake mentioned you've got nothing to worry about. 922r only applies to self-loading (semi-automatic) rifles and shotguns, it does not apply to manually operated longarms (bolt action, break-open action, lever action, pump action, etc.), so your Hawk 981 is legal no matter what parts you install on it. The law says semi-auto rifle or ANY shotgun..........I'm confused.
  10. Just got a Saiga the othe day and became aware of 922r. I modded a Hawk Model 981 awhile back with no knowleadge and now am looking for the BATFE around every corner. I put a mag tube extender with new spring and follower and an ATI 6 position stock and pistol grip. The best I can find is I would have to change 2 parts but everything I can find is geared toward semi-auto sporters. Appreciate any suggestions. Hopefully I'm not wearing this out.
  11. I live just east of the ATX off of Hwy 71E. Just got a shiny new S12 a week ago. Have yet to fire it and already feel inadequate. Would love to have a club and find any one with experience and knowledge. Shoot me a message.
