I still need to refinish the wood but here is a conversion I did this morning.

I filed the mag lock edge down to make mine square. It was cut at the factory to some weird angle and my AGP mags were not locking in place. It is now 100% functional.

Here is the answer you are looking for. Jetmech, You do realize the difference between a TRIGGER and a HAMMER. You keep posting the wrong solution when people run into this problem.

I was happy to get it all put together. The BHO spring was very easy and grinding the hammer was not a problem. As I pushed in the second axis pin I realized that I didn't have anything to hold them in place. Now I have to wait for my Shepherds Hook to show up. I have built several AR's and poo-pooed AK's. After completing this conversion project I am enamored by the AK simplistic design. I need an AK next and can't decide if I want to buy something built or do another Saiga conversion. Once I get the axis pins secured I'll post some pictures.

Grind. Here is what it's supposed to look like I got it covered but you picture is of the hammer. My issue was with the trigger but thanks.

Disregard. I took a few thousands off the front of the receiver hole and my trigger now pivots like a see-saw! I am mid conversion and I ran into a snag. My trigger won't pivot if the axis pin. It looks like the trigger is hanging up on the front of the trigger hole. Anybody else run into something like this? Opinions: Make the hole bigger or grind the FCG? Thanks!

I ordered a bunch of stuff including a trigger set from CSS last Thursday and had it Monday.

I was thinking of wrapping the butt end with paracord to make it a bit softer. I plan on using this for three gun not trap or sporting clays.

A three gun match in Kalifornia must be pretty funny to watch. I have never tried to jam rounds down a magazine while it is still inserted into the weapon. I have to ask............... Do Californians feel any safer with these gun laws?

I am trying to figure out what configuration to go with for my Saiga-12 conversion. I'm seriously thinking about a Romanian side folder with a wood lower handguard. Anybody have something like this and care to share a picture or two? I'm also wondering how bad the recoil is with the metal butt stock. My mag release lever edge was not square. Some drunken Russian cut it at a slight angle. I cleaned it up with a file and now every mag I own, OEM, AGP, etc.... fits and works.

Does anybody make anything that looks like this for the Saiga-12? I like this look much better than the apple corer looking ones.
