I've read some stuff that seemed to indicate that the reason that 6.8 isn't taking off in the AR world is that the heavier grain 5.56 is performing better.

Well, mark this down as something I'm going to regret later but there are some other firearm purchases I want to make before the November elections so I'm selling my Saiga and thought I would give fellow forum members a shot at it before it goes on Gunbroker. Obviously, you must be legally able to purchase firearms in your state. I will transfer this to my local FFL and have him mail it to yours. This is a EAA Saiga that I've owned for a few years now. I've probably put about 600 rounds down range through it. I've cleaned it after every range trip. There is a bullet guide installed

I picked up this scope from Kalinka Optics a while back and I soon after decided that I wanted to go with a red dot instead. I don't think I ever got to shooting with it. Here's a link to the website: http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/detail.aspx?ID=100 They want $109.97 plus shipping. I'd like to get $75.00 shipped to you.

Displaced Yankee replied to Displaced Yankee's topic in Saiga .308
I shoot lefty so I can't use the thumbhole stock model and Centerfire is backordered on their std .308 Saiga. -

I believe you've got the Krebs and Techsights mixed up. The Techsights for the AK do not attach to the tang. I specifically asked that question of the gentleman on THR who posted info about the sight. He stated that it most certainly did not attach via the tang and would still allow folks with folders to use the sights. From what I could tell about the pictures, it looks like it somehow attaches to the disassembly button at the rear of the dustcover. Barrett I read the same post and now that I think about it I remember the folder comment. So you are correct.

I'm thinking that lower would look pretty nice with the Ultimak rail on top. Thanks for the pics!! -

There aren't many pics of those handguards actually installed on the internet. Could you post some close ups? I was thinking about using the lower with an Ultimak Rail. -
Saiga .308 VS a bolt action in .308
Displaced Yankee replied to Displaced Yankee's topic in Saiga .308
Yeah x39 should be fine. I just haven't gotten my rifle sighted out to 100 yards yet so I've been using a friends Savage .308. I was just thinking rather than getting two rifles in .308 to just get one. -
I've been planning on getting a bolt action rifle in .308 for hunting and was thinking about the possibility of adding a Saiga in .308 as well. So I was thinking maybe I should just get the Saiga and add a scope and leave it pretty much stock. So I'm looking for some feedback for some of you hunters on the forum who might have a Saiga and a bolt action in .308. My maximum distance where I've been hunting is about 200 yards. How much do you think I would be giving up in accuracy going with the Saiga??

I like it! I'm considering adding a Saiga 308 and was thinking about keeping it stock.
