The magpul Masada (bushmaster ACR)
Displaced Yankee replied to Vultite's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
There's an updated video of the Bushmaster ACR from the Shot Show on Youtube. They did make some design changes from the original design. My concern is has to do more with the changing political landscape. By the time they start mass producing it, it might only be available to us for a short period of time. -
I VOTED.
Displaced Yankee replied to SaigaNoobie's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I did and I voted for Ron Paul. I even met him at one of his meetings and got a picture of myself with Dr. Paul. I'd post it but then Big Brother would know what I look like and where I live. : ) -

On another AK forum I found that Tech-Sights is working on a aperture sight for AK's. I'm very interested to see what they are going to come up with. I'd like to know in that picture above how they attached that rail into where the rear sight sits. That would be an interesting combination to try.

I'm looking for a std 7.62x39 handguard that hasn't been vented.

I guess in my mind it's revived the whole AK vs AR\.223 vs 7.62x39 debate. I originally purchased my Saiga as a SHTF fan gun. But after a few trips to the range I discovered that I really like putting small holes in pieces of paper from various distances. And I really, really like it when they end up where I aim them rather than all over the place. I don't have unlimited funds to throw around either so that plays into it as well. It would be cheaper to do some mods to my Saiga. I discovered on another AK forum that TechSights is coming out with a new sight for AK's in 2008. I also fou

I've gotten a little frustrated with sighting in my Saiga 7.62. I'm not a fan of the notch type sight and adjusting the front sight left to right is a real pain. My shots are all over the place so I'm not sure if I have my Saiga sighted. Attaching a red dot is much better but I'd like to have the iron sights working. I made the mistake of checking out an AR at the local 'fun' store and began to investigate how customizable the AR really is. So I'm planning on building a flat-top with flip up sights. But the $$$$ difference is making me reconsider. That and after all the reading I've been d

More Muslim Bashing
Displaced Yankee replied to Bayoupiper's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
"The Muslim scholars state: "As Muslims, we say to Christians that we are not against them and that Islam is not against them - so long as they do not wage war against Muslims on account of their religion, oppress them and drive them out of their homes." Meanwhile all over the world Muslims are waging war on Christian's on account of their religion, oppressing them and driving them out of their homes. Count me as one Christian who has had enough! In places like Sudan for instance. I've had enough of the church funds raisers to raise money for food for the Christian's in Sudan. We ou -
Is that why the news in North Carolina frequently have new reports of drunk, illegal's in car wrecks, killing Americans going about there daily lives???? If one of my familiy is ever effected in this way you will have one irate American who will on camera lay the blame at El Presidente Bush. When this happens, America (as we've known it) will cease to exist and I'll be flying the Stars & Bars. Even though I'm a Northener.

Diary of the Dead
Displaced Yankee replied to Juggernaut's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
'On the contrary... you need to immerse yourself in them' I don't think so.... But the new Resident Evil movie does look interesting. Once in High School, my friends decided that a good place to park and smoke some leafy substance was in the graveyard! I was FREAKING OUT!!!!! I had to fight the urge to get out of the car and run for my life!! I glad they didn't know the story! I could only imagine what they would have done! Course there was this time once when leafy substance was involved that 3 of the 5 of us had Halloween masks and we put them on and grabbed yard t -
Diary of the Dead

I am not into Zombie movies! A little story. I'm in my 40's now but when I was in the age somewhere between 1st and 5th grade, I had this Fangoria magazine which I believe had a script or something like that from Night of the Living Dead. So my parents go out one night and leave me with a sitter and she reads me stuff from the magazine. Now my sister and I had a bathroom between our bedrooms. So all I remember is going to bed and then THE SITTER JUMPS OUT FROM THE DAMN BATHROOM ONTO MY BED SCREAMING AND STUFF. Talked about TRAUMATIZED !!! Then my parents move and we end up living a -
