  1. Just got my sights in today. They kick major ass and are rock solid. They line up perfectly as well. I was having trouble with the factory sights being too low, but these ones are raised to the perfect level. Thanks for the quality product.
  2. Ok, here's the deal- I received a UTG quad rail for my Romanian AK from CSS yesterday. When I opened it up, it had signs of use (there were some scratches and dings on the rail, and the bag that held the screws had been cut open). I e-mailed Greg to see what could be done about it, and he got back to me right away (I e-mailed him before I went to bed, after midnight, and he actually e-mailed me back about an hour later!). He even called me first thing in the AM. Turns out, he had no idea that the rails were coming in like that. His distributor had been sending him used products, and he
  3. Edited out- figured I'd contact CSS and see if they can make it right before complaining on here.
  4. Sluggers are great. Every time I go to Wal-mart I try to buy a 15-round value pack. They're $8.97 here. Plenty of oomph. When shooting Sluggers, my gun cycles on -1 (most restricted) with the Gunfixr plug. I got an MD Arms plug, but haven't gotten around to taking the S-12 out since I've gotten it.
  5. Thanks for all the great advice, Shadoh. Only reason I don't want to mess with it right now is because I Loctite'd the s#!* out of the handguard retainer screw, and don't feel like taking it off right now.
  6. Not that bad of an idea! I have a vise around somewhere but need to mount it to a sturdy bench. If I just leave it how it is and just adjust the sight to make up for the crookedness, is the canted gas block going to hurt anything mechanically? The only thing I can think of is the piston rubbing against the gas tube, which doesn't seem like that big of a deal.
  7. I agree, I love ordering from CSS. I'm only a few states up, so the stuff always gets here super fast. Whenever I need to do a conversion, that's where I order from.
  8. Should I be worried? The slight crookedness doesn't bother me since I can adjust the rear sight, but could I possibly mess up the threading on the retainer screw hole?
  9. After installing a Chaos extended rail on my S-12, I saw that the rail is slightly crooked when comparing it to the rest of the gun. The rear rail key went into the notch (and doesn't wobble at all), and the handguard retainer screw tightened down without any problems. After tightening it down, I noticed that the rail wasn't centered. Maybe the retainer screw hole on the bottom of the gas block is slightly off center? Anyone else have experience with this issue? Not really that big of a deal since the sights I'm getting can adjust for windage, but I was just curious.
  10. Thanks for the quick response. Will hit it with a little bit of blue.
  11. Just wondering if anyone puts a dab of loctite on their handguard screws. I just got a Chaos rail, and I have some blue loctite on hand. Was thinking about putting a little bit on there.
  12. I agree on the quality of the Troys. In fact, the reason I'm interested in getting the Micro's for the S-12 is because I have a standard Troy rear BUIS on my AR, and it is outstanding. They are definitely pricey, but you get what you pay for I suppose. I probably won't pick the set up until next month, but when the rail comes in, I'll throw on my regular-height Troy sight on there, and if it sits too high, then the Micro's should be the answer.
  13. I was actually just about to ask the same thing, good thing I used the search function first! Anyone else have input on the Troy micro flip-up sights in conjunction with the Chaos extended rail? I just ordered myself a Chaos ext rail, and I'm really digging those FDE Troy sights. Using an ACE stock, it's a pain in the ass to get a good sight picture using the iron sights. My line of sight is about 1.5-2 inches higher than the iron sights (big cheekbone I guess? haha). Even if I press my cheek down hard, I still can't get the front bead level with the rear sight. The receiver block has a lo

    Just got her

Are you 922r compliant with that drum in there on an unconverted gun?
  15. Just got my drum and plug in the mail today. Super fast shipping! Workmanship on both looks fantastic, that drum is rock solid. The only downside is that I had to remove my folding stock to use the drum (Virginia law), but I really only used the folder for storage anyway, so no biggie. Very satisfied, will definitely be ordering future products from MD Arms.
