  1. Hey guys I have recently put a Bushnell TRS-25 on my Saiga 12 by means of the side scope mount. I was wondering how you red dot guys have zero'd it in the past and at what range and with what ammo. I have never shot a shotgun with a red dot before so I am trying to see what everyone else has done
  2. Basically all you have to do is unscrew the screw at the bottom of the handguard pull down and out.
  3. I do have the BHO spring installed....I bent the spring like in the video you guys have however I was not aware of putting a notch in it with a dremel. Yea basically the top of the BHO catch is slipping off of the bottom of the rails in the reciever
  4. Hey guys....I recently did a Saiga 12 conversion and I have been having issues keeping the Bold Hold Open (BHO) catch in place. What it does it slip out from underneath the guide rail for the bolt carrier. I have tried my new JT spring aswell as the factory spring and it keeps slipping out from under neath it. Any suggestions. Thanks Jason
  5. Hey guys I was wondering what everyone thinks about the SGM Quad Rail for mounting a light weight red dot sight as opposed to a huge metal rail system. Do you think this would retain zero or would it be better to go with the side scope mount rail type adapter???? THanks J
  6. I used Sellier and Bellot OO Buck shot. You can order it from Cheaperthandirt or Ammunitiontogo.com. Pretty cheap stuff to break the Saiga 12 in
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWmQj83szkE Here I am running a 12 rounder. I like it plus it keeps me from blowing away 20 shells in one shot J
  8. This thing looks sick!!! I can't wait for a few guys to try it out and see how it runs. I have the Gunfixr Plug and that works great but if this is automatic in terms of regulating excess gas into the gas chamber that would be awesome J

  11. Just got an email from Mississippi Auto Arms today saying that the supply of Saiga Rifles and Shotguns from RAA is drying up. Anyone hear anything more about this. Maybe its time to buy one or two more before the prices skyrocket!!!!
  12. Hey everyone. Here is a pic of my first conversion. 19" Saiga 12 Tromix DIY Trigger Guard Tapco G2 Trigger Group Tapco Stock SGM Forend Standard Twister Puck Duracoat: Combat Grey Turned out really good I can't wait to shoot it.....too bad I converted it for my dad....HAHA. Mine is next and I am about to make it the same exact way Jason
  13. Correct....It is for use with only 2 3/4 shells. I am only going to use it with cheap bird shop. I will swap out to the factory spring if I am going to shoot heavy 2 3/4 buck or slug or 3" Mag
  14. Bob......the gunfixr gas plug is an adjustable gas regulator. The factory plug has 2 settings on it. Setting 1 is for high base loads (buck and slug) and setting 2 is for cheap bird shot (stuff with not a lot of powder to cycle the action). The twister puck is a puck that goes into the gas cylinder and when a round is fired the gas pushes the puck against the bolt carrier and cycles the action. I have had it for a while and I think the only real benefit is that it cleans out the gas cylinder pretty good while firing. The Gunfixr plug however is great in that it has 4 settings a opposed to 2 so
  15. Mods: Gunfixr Gas Plug (which was set on the most restrictive setting) Polished Bolt Carrier and Hammer CSS reduced power #1 recoil spring Twister Puck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCRsz12n-tw
  16. I was wondering if anyone has used both the recoil buffer with the reduced recoil #1 spring from CSS. With the factory spring the bolt hardly gets rearward to cycle a new round however I was wondering if you could compensate for this with adding the different spring. I like the idea of the buffer however I dont want to use it if it effects the functioning of the weapon.
  17. Setting 1 is used for high power loads (buckshot and slugs). It limits the amount if gas into the cylinder and as a result reduces recoil and also preserves the life if your Saiga 12's rear parts. Setting 2 is used for light power loads (birdshot). It allows for more gas into gas cylinder to cycle the action. If you have a decent Saiga 12 the factory one should work fine however I'd look into getting the Gunfixr Gas Plug. It gives you 4 settings as opposed to 2. At least for me I can see what type of ammo works with the most restrictive gas setting in turn preserving the life of the gun and cu
  18. So I went shooting yesterday and after about 200 rounds of buckshot, slug, and winchester 7 1/2 birdshot (which all ran fine, even the birdshot...no FTF or FTE) it seemed like the gas system was starting to cease up. It was only ceasing up on the birdshot. Buck and Slug were still good. I was wondering if maybe it was the gas cylinder being clogged. I have the twister puck and when I went to clean the gun I pretty much had to hammer out the puck and wrench off my gunfixer plug. All the grooves were filled with carbon (which was packed really tight). I was wondering if anyone had the same probl
  19. I recieved one of these in last week, took it to the range and I had a FTF every time. It ejected out the fired shell however its like the angle was wrong that it feeds it. Any help out there? Thanks J
  20. Hey everyone I am having issues with my front leaf sight. From what I gather around the forum it is pretty much agreed that it is crap. I was at the range and the wheel and latch that is at the front that screws down to the gun flew off when it came undone. I want to go for the regular iron sights however I couldn't get the rear "wings" if you will out of the notch that is on the gun. I dont want to damage the gun however I am not sure how to get it off w/o hammering the hell out of it. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. Thanks Jason
  21. The TAPCO Intrafuse handguard isn't bad. I have the UTG quad rail on my Romanian AK47 and that one is pretty solid. The TAPCO is good for about 45 bucks. And my finish is the Tactical version of the Coyote Brown and doesnt have any sheen at all.
  22. I sanded the stock magazine and forend with medium sandpaper. Duracoated. Let dry about 12 hours then sanded down with ultra fine sandpaper to get rid of all the fibers that raise up. Then duracoat again and let cure for a few days to a week
  23. Here's my zombie slayer after duracoating. The color is Tactical Coyote Brown on the factory stock (with SM buttpad) and on the Tapco Intrafuse handguard in Flat Dark Earth. The FDE was a close match but I am decided to duracoat it just to match. Anyone have any idea for replacing the leaf sight. It pretty much sucks? Thanks guys
