  1. I hope MAA is correct in his assessment. I'd buy two for $399. It's also worth noting that in addition to supply and demand, there are definitely a couple of other possible factors: currency rates, and commodity pricing. The dollar has taken a pretty good hit against the ruble over the past year, and just about all metals have seen significant increases in prices over the past year. Obviously energy (basic input to production) has gone up as well. Nevermind Saigas, I wish I had bought silver when it was selling at $12/ounce just a few years ago. It's coming up on $40/ounce. Any
  2. I replaced the axis pin retaining spring with one of the plates and I had to install the hammer pin first instead of installing the trigger pin first (like is shown in the video). Took me a bit to figure that out. Not sure if it was me, or if that IS the way you have to do it when you use a plate instead of a spring? And the gentleman in the video makes that BHO spring look like a piece of cake. I have always had problems getting my spring in without some bloodshed. For the 223 I did a few weeks ago I used some thin Christmas wrapping ribbon to pull the spring down towards the BHO hole
  3. Could you post some more pics of the modified quad forend please?
  4. That's funny. I was just commenting on how cool AZG's long barrel .308 looks. I never thought those long barrels could look that good; I was wrong.
  5. Hey christcorp, would you mind telling me roughly how much you had to grind down on the inside of the receiver to get your AR mags to fit? I received my adapter this evening. I was surprised how easy it went in, but now I need to do some grinding. My adapter is from renegadebuck. Also very glad to hear you had no problems with the drum.
  6. I can't be the only one who cracked a smile on that one??
  7. That handguard is awesome! Is it custom? Very nice looking gun.
  8. I bought my FCG from dinzag, and I would do it all again
  9. Yeah, if your BHO is not set up correctly this may be the culprit. The first Saiga I converted was a 308, and I do remember having problems getting the BHO set up correctly. If you're comfortable taking the trigger assembly apart you could try to completely remove the BHO and see if that fixes things; the BHO is not a functional requirement for shooting the gun. And to answer your question, no, it's not normal for you to have to pull the BHO lever down in order for the bolt carrier to move forward. If you can take some pics of the inside of your gun that would help.
  10. Are you talking about the thing highlighted in red? That's the bolt hold open lever. Push it up when you've pulled the charging handle back and it will keep the bolt carrier held back. For the feeding problem, is your bolt carrier seated fully/correctly? I can't remember ever having that problem with mine.
  11. What about a grip pod? You can find the genuine brand name (with steel leg inserts) fairly reasonably (I think I paid $60 for mine), and they double as a grip. I also bought a couple of cheapo grip pods (not the brand name) for $10 a piece, and the screw on one stripped the first time I tightened it. Am still able to use it with a washer in place. I use the cheapies for the 223s.
