  1. From what I've been hearing/reading, it's not the heat treat of the receiver. Some of them are coming in with recoil springs that are too light, causing the carrier to batter the rear trunnion. In some cases, this is causing the receiver to crack. Also, the ridges on the G2 hammer face are causing peening on the nub on the rear of the carrier. I think he's talking about the recent torture test where the receiver bent when they ran it over with the SUV, none of the others have done that yet. Whoa! I hadn't seen that yet. Thanks for posting.

Alot of people are installing XP recoil springs, and reprofiling the G2 hammer (like they do for Saiga/Vepr conversions) as a solution. I would probably install a recoil buffer too for good measure. I read this on the AK forum. It's a rather
  3. I've got a CZ 75D PCR, love it. The trigger does take some getting used to if you're not familiar with the CZ design/platform. I swapped out the hammer spring for a lighter one (16#) to give it a lighter, slightly smoother DA trigger pull. I think the factory spring is like 19 or 20#, a little too heavy for my taste.
  4. Does yours have a fixed stock or is it an underfolder? I'm intererested in the one at Atlantic with the fixed wood stock, but the angle of the stock looks kinda funky. I'm wondering if the sights line up properly.
  5. I'm thinking about getting one of those. Do they feed HP and SP ammo reliably?
  6. I was just going to ask if they are as aggressive as largemouth because I've never caught one, but have always wanted to try fishing for them. I guess that answers my question.
  7. What is it with people and texting while driving? Especially this younger generation, but adults too. The other day I saw this kid which I'm guessing was probably in his teens, possibly early 20's that was texting while driving in heavy work traffic. He had to swerve to keep from hitting another car. Then, I see him again a little later in bumper to bumper traffic STILL texting while driving! A few times he almost rear ended the car in front of him. I was tempted to get his license plate # and call the police. Why not just call the person instead of texting? Better yet, pull over a
  8. Ah,ok. Yeah, it must be the mags I'm thinking of for the VZ 58 that are aluminum. I know that CZ makes some of their pistols with a forged aluminum frame (7075 T6) The CZ-75 PCR (which I have, fantastic little pistol) and the P-01. Although that's probably an apples to oranges comparison, because an AK design would probably require a material that could absorb more of a pounding.
  9. What about the VZ 58 rifles? Aren't their receivers made of forged aluminum?
  10. Good on the staff for letting it happen. It's interesting how he was killed basically the same way he killed his first victim. I wonder if the guy who did it was aware of this,or if it was just coincidence.
  11. I've noticed you really like the GP pistols, particularly the K100. What's so great about them? Apparently they skull fuck other handguns. Unique but cool feature in any firearm.

  13. Sweet! I've been looking for another tactical shotty. Have you had any issues with it? Would you recommend this over the Remington 1100 tactical? How durable is the finish on it?
  14. Nice! What scope mount is that? Does it hold zero?
  15. This is one reason I CAN'T STAND Facebook. I remember when it first came out, I thought to myself,oh cool, but then I thought this is probably not such a good idea. All these people telling every minute detail of their lives, with pictures of themselves and often times their family, friends, and valuable possessions. To top it all off, the state and town where they live and/or work. No thanks! I never did jump on that train and I never will.
  16. This is not a good way to carry to start with IMHO. Why not just carry on the hip or IWB like everyone else? Is it because of the "cool factor"?
  17. I always find it interesting during a SWAT home invasion, often times the first guy(s) through the door are armed with handguns. The guy(s) with the shotty should be first IMO.
  18. Do you have the "Duty" model or the updated 2014 one? I think I read something about CZ going from a captive to a non-captive recoil spring assembly in the latest model.(why,I don't know) One thing is for sure, the spring on mine (non-captive) is very stiff. Maybe these have a break-in period. I read that some models of HK pistols are like this, very stiff when brand new.
  19. I ran some 124 gr. Speer through it, no problems. I think that stiff recoil spring might need to be loosened up and the 115 gr. Blazer Brass and PMC might just be underpowered for it. I'm going to try some 124 gr. S&B next (Czech pistol,Czech ammo) That's what they use at the CZ factory. I think most of the European manufactured ammo is loaded to NATO spec and the BB and PMC might just be watered down by comparison. The difference in bullet weight might be a factor too. On a side note, I noticed during disassembly that there is a rub mark on the ejector where it appears to be making
  20. Reading your post as well as several others on different forums and youtube, I'm starting to think it might be user error on my part. Like some little knit-picking thing I'm not doing right. It seems like I'm the only one having these issues. Everyone else is saying they haven't had a single hiccup with theirs; it's just strange.
  21. Just the 2 factory mags. One thing I did I notice about this pistol is that the recoil spring is very stiff compared to something like a Glock. Maybe that's normal for a CZ, I don't know, this is the first one I've ever owned. I think I read something about locking the slide back for a couple days on a new gun with a stiff spring to take some of the tension off of it. I might also try some heavier grain ammo to see if that helps. At any rate, I'm going to give CZ a call tomorrow and see what they have to say.
  22. Yeah, I am seriously disappointed to say the least. A CZ is about the last thing I would expect to have issues with. From what I've heard/read, they are supposed to be ultra reliable. With the few pistols that I've owned, I'm pretty sure that they all ran right out of the box, even surplus ones.
