if the hammer was backwards how would it work at all?

Never heard of a vodka special rifle. Vodka special refers to factory problems with Saiga shotguns. Is your Saiga converted or in factory configuration? its factory config
-
well then i guess i got a vodka special

So it seems to me that the Saiga isn't as reliable as the standard AK47. the reason i say this is that i have fired about 500 rounds out of my Saiga and the trigger mechanism stopped working so i needed to clean and lube the rifle for it to function again. it seems to me that most aks do not need to be cleaned or lubed at all but the saiga is more sensitive to dirt.

can u show me a picture of what your describing?

maybe someone here can help me do the conversion i live in NY

damn if that's the case i have to take apart the trigger assembly right? but why does it work fine when i manually rack the bolt and press the trigger without any rounds? Because when the trigger is reset during use, you still hold down the trigger in the fire position. When you manually do it, I suspect you are not holding down the trigger with your finger and thus the hammer gets caught the front hook and not the semi-auto disconnector. When you use the rifle to fire, the semi-auto disconnector grabs the hammer and some portion of the linkage gets in the way of the trigger

i dont have the tools or the time to do it i will probly take it to a gunsmith

the problem is that after the first shot the trigger stays to the rear and it does not release the hammer when i press it

Convert it Lol. If it is not a trigger problem, then maybe there's gas bleeding off somewhere and it's short-cycling the bolt? You didn't poke any holes in the gas tube somehow, did 'ya? I know they aren't very thick but it would still take some force to puncture them... no the bolt cycles perfectly its just the trigger doesn't reset after the first round is fired

i put about 700 rounds out of my factory unmodified saiga and now when i shoot one round the trigger fails to reset but when i cycle the action manually the trigger resets normally. how can i fix it? thanks in advance.

My Saiga has a 145mm spread from the factory
Greenhorn21 replied to steinlok87's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
Err that is more the accuracy of a bolt rifle than an AK pattern, while Ive seen people do it with the 308 using extensive reloading experience I would feel very happy with 3MOA at 100m from the x39 perhaps a little less from a vice but still 1MOA from the x39 is unrealistic. I point this out only so guys don't think something is wrong when their groups are 3 to 5MOA. This is not a target rifle it is to put not to fine a point on it a battle rifle and wars are not fought against paper targets. I have noticed the rifle seems more accurate at 50m than 100m but that may just be me. this guy -

yeah when i saw that my saiga has a 96 mm group at 100 meters on the certificate i was upset since saigas should be about 1-2 moa at 100 meters -
i love both but in a combat situation its important to have rails for sights and flashlights/lasers.

centerfiresystems is great

the principal is same with any gun keep all the metal parts oiled when in storage and clean it off before shooting. after shooting do the basic field strip and clean off the bolt and bolt carrier along with the receiver and the barrel. also remove the gas block and give it a nice cleaning.

Poll: How many do your own trigger conversion?
Greenhorn21 replied to Flasharino's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
im looking to convert my saiga, who makes the best trigger group for it? -
so people have softer tissue so hollow points are better for home defense
-
you only need 4 american parts since the saiga comes with 14 parts
