I always liked the look of the single rail handguard. Searched the internet up & down and eventually found it on some random website that sold a couple of S12 stuff. Can't remember the site (Man, my memory sucks these days), but I think it was the last one they had anyway. I probably overpaid & shipping took forever, but eventually I got it. Where did you get that single rail handguard?

I'll admit that my memory is a bit fuzzy on how hot the shroud gets as I don't really make a point of touching it after extensive firing. I want to say that it was still fairly hot. I'm going to try to get to the range this week; if I do, I'll try to remember to pay attention. Sorry for the non-answer.

What part of your conversion gave you the most trouble

^This. Exactly. Spent a day convincing myself to cut the tang. Then an entire night to get that spring to stay. -
Almost done...if I can just get the damn Olight pressure switch to work!

I can't tell from your photos, but if you have a MD Arms Molot-style pistol grip, check to make sure it's not getting hung up there. My BHO was getting stuck every now & then and the reason was that grip was just slightly too large & snagged the BHO. I dremeled out just a tiny section near the BHO & now it works flawlessly.

The stock was design/produced by Harris 3D Engineering exclusively for AA. Hence, the "3D"...and the reason I didn't buy it (besides the high price tag).

While I was planning my conversion, I was also interested in this stock. Basically I just liked the uniqueness of it. However, being skeptical of AA based on what I've read on this site, I contacted them first about details regarding the stock & additional photographs. I know people will be shocked, but AA was less than helpful. Basically said it was "sweet" and they didn't have any more photos. Then I went as far as contacting the owner of Harris 3D Engineering to ask him about it. He was a lot more helpful & assuaged a lot of my initial fears about it. I was very close to o
