  1. Thanks to Centerfire Systems I've got one of these on the way. Look forward to stretching it out. Hopefully the threads will be concentric so I can use my Phantom 7.62 on it. -Jim
  2. I'm doing a match that requires Russian weapons for engaging targets from 50 yards to 300. I'd like an affordable optic mount that won't require me to re-zero after a cleaning. I'm leaning toward something like a VOMZ 30mm mount and the primary arms 1-4x24 optic. Amy other suggestions? -Jim
  3. I truly believe that racism is morally wrong. That video does nothing to further the cause of the good and honest African Americans out there to stop stereotyping. It's truly ashame. Dr. King must be rolling in his grave.
  4. If you are building your own, then why not just mill the receiver from a billet? A stainless S12 would be pretty sweet. Good luck with the bolt, unless you have a 5 axis, that part looks pretty hard to make. -Jim
  5. AK-Builder doesn't (and never has) sell S-12 flats. It would require a completely new design, a new bending die, new rails, new everything... all for a gun that doesn't have parts kits, or even replacement parts for that matter. Why do you want an S-12 flat?
  6. All hope is lost. Mike should start selling his drums for $50.00 so he can get while the getting is good :-) I'm in for 10.
  7. I've seen a few saiga 12s with a optics mount that is very short and had a dovetail to fit the were the rear sight is installed. I dont want a full rail on my gas block, just a 1" long mount is fine, so one of these looks perfect. I can't find them anywhere. Does anybody know where they come from? I want to mount a PA micro dot or a Burris fastfire. -Jim

Probably a horrible idea in a mag fed shotgun. However, the technique is shown on the Magpul dynamic shotgun video.
  9. One thing I've learned over my few years of at home gunsmithing: If it ain't broke, whatever you do, don't fix it. I can't tell you how much heartache / money I've spent because I thought I could get something a little bit better that really already worked just fine. My advise is that if it already works well on low brass the only thing you can do by modifying it, is to make it worse. -Jim
  10. If you can cycle low brass on setting 4. What do you intend to gain by modifying it? -Jim
  11. Mike, thanks for the response about the expected lifespan. I think I'll pick one up. Next question / suggestion. Why don't you release the "super" puck. I know, I'd love to have a puck that would allow me to do an SBS without modifying the gas system length. If your super puck could pull that off, man that would be sweet. -Jim
  12. Mike, I know the thread is moving fast, but would you mind speaking to my question of wear resistance? Since you've swapped from steel, what kind of lifespan reduction do you expect? It's a $16.00 part so it's ok if it doesn't last as long, but I'd like to know what kind of a difference we are looking at.
  13. I use the limbsaver that snaps onto AR15 butt stocks on my T6. It really helps a lot when shooting slugs. I'm a fan of always lowering the pain value. A lot of macho guys here will tell us how tuff they are by taking the pain. That's cool, they need to feel special too. However, I'd bet real money that I get more rounds on target in less time with my limbsaver since I'm not flinching and my shoulder doesn't scream after that 50th slug shot. -Jim
