  1. Anyone know where I can find 5.45x39 or 5.56x45 AK followers and magazine springs? Thanks.
  2. My Arsenal SLR-106 (5.56x45mm) came with 2 pre-ban Bakelite mags for the 5.45 that were converted by a local gunshop to shoot 5.56 (this is because I live in NYS and we can only have magazines over 10 rounds manufactured before the AWB of 1994). One of these mags feeds flawlessly, the other is a completely botched job that I refuse to try to get working. They subbed in an AR-15 follower and put it in backwards. I don't shop at that gun store because they are a bunch of idiots, but the guy I bought the Arsenal from had shopped there and picked up these two Franken-mags. I'd like to salvage
  3. I placed an order for conversion parts from Dinzag 2 weeks ago and have not heard anything since the initial order confirmation. My credit card was billed. Is this a normal wait period? Should I call them and see what's up?
  4. I ordered one from Dinzag for my round trunnion 5.45 Saiga. Why am I seeing threads every other day here about problems with round/flat 5.45 trunnion bullet guides from Dinzag? Is there anything I should look out for when I get mine? Is there a specific problem with the 5.45 BGs or do other calibers have the same problems (carrier getting caught up on the BG)? Any tips or videos on how to install a bullet guide properly? This seems like the most complicated part of the conversion process.
  5. Thanks a lot. That link was originally forwarding me to spam website. It would say Oops and then re-direct me. Thanks for the links to it. Why does dinzag's website say the normal Tapco G2 triggers need modification to fit in Saiga rifles? I thought you only need to modify them if you keep the BHO, which I'm not planning to.
  6. If you have a link, it would be really helpful. I searched that site and found it very user-unfriendly.
  7. So I'm planning to do a basic pistol grip conversion on my 5.45 Saiga rifle. I have never done anything like this. I already have a number of different pistol grips, and have a Nato length K-Var stock; I've also found the following items that I'll need and have them in my shopping cart waiting to checkout: Pistol grip nut and screw Trigger group hole plugs Retaining plate Tapco Single Hook G2 Trigger The main issue is that I have a round trunnion Saiga and have not been able to find a bullet guide on any of the usual websites. I would order the parts for the conversion and start
  8. Which did you use and why? Any benefits of one over the other? Thanks.
  9. http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/servlet/-strse-126/AK47-TAPCO-SAIGA-AXIS/Detail Is this the Krebs?
  10. Before I order all the parts, I'd like some advice from those with experience about which Fire Control Group retainer works best and is the best value. I've heard to steer clear of Tapco retainers as they require modification to fit properly. Which ones did you all use? Also, are all bullet guides created equal? Any recommendations? PS- I would prefer to buy all the parts I need from the same source to consolidate on shipping costs. I was planning to buy from CSS.
  11. He meant to post that the magazine in question has a US floor plate and US follower. Yeah I was surprised how tight it is on there. I have to use the "cleaning kit" tube to open the latch every time (not the case with my other AK variants). I have to use the screwdriver tool from the cleaning kit to pry it up. I hope it gets better with time.
  12. It secures the two pins that on which the trigger and hammer ride. Your AKs have something holding those pins. Any number of things might suffice, but I believe the Krebs retainer plate to be the most reliable, and it's also a lot more convenient that some of the other options. Thanks!
  13. What is the retainer plate for? I notice that there is no retainer plate on 2 of my AKs and they work perfectly. Is this something Saigas need?
  14. This link and other sources I've been able to find that discuss 922r make no mention of magazine capacity being an issue. As it stands, the 10 round magazine provided by Izhmash is not US made and the floorplate, follower, and magazine body should still count as 3 foreign parts on the gun. So how is that magazine okay and a foreign 30 rounder not? Can someone send me an official link to read 922r laws? Perhaps from the BATFE? Thanks. I see that it is because 10 round mags are what is accepted for "sporting rifles."
