I getting closer until I was about 8" away. The last three shots were taken with Macro. The close up is cropped from one of the Macro shots and blown up "full size"

  11. Thanks, Cobra. What a huge difference it makes acquiring that front sight.
  12. This is precisely what I did, with the addition of some epoxy putty between the sight and gas block, then screwed down.
  13. Try the factory mag.
  14. OP, you can do a port job yourself and it won't cost you anything(if you have the tools). Same with polishing and profiling the internals, and a full conversion, if that's what you want. That will cost $ for parts. All that information is already written. Read it. These guns will run any ammo you want to use once they're set up to, but it's rare they are refined enough for that from the factory. Sorry if you don't have time to study the information that is already written. "i dont have time to read through literally thousands of posts to read the same shit over and over. i figured i

  16. its gonna happen. people get too lazy to look first, they pretty much want you to repeat everything youve already said. over, and over, and over...... normally i dont mind but it does become tedious. its like it should be stickied somewhere........LOL. Excellent idea........ All of the "OMG, my gun won't work" solutions in one spot. Oh, wait that's called forum.saiga-12.com hehehe P.S. rant and hijack, oops
  17. Apparently you didn't come here and study up on it before you bought it. You and everyone else has had the same problem and all of the answers are already here. All you have to do is read them before asking about something that's been covered. Being a newbie, please take some time and read. Here's a good place to start....... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=62895&st=0&p=604358entry604358
  18. I watch very little TV. SOG is one that I do watch for the reasons stated above, even though it is scripted (it has to be) and the writers are not clever. It is good TV.
  19. I have no co-witnessed red dots. I did that once and thought it was totally unnecessary and defeated the purpose of both sights.
  20. A good quality machinists drill bit set will have a .093 drill in it. Some of us actually have those. Or this from DeWalt: http://www.toolup.com/dewalt_dw1969_29-piece-pilot-point-drill-bit-set-metal-index.aspx?utm_source=channelintelligence&utm_medium=15053889&srccode=cii_15053889&cpncode=27-440968 For about $80.00 Dewalt has a smaller 'case' of bits for around $30 that has an .093" bit in it. The Dewalt bits are the best that I have tried. Turn them slow and they will last. Yeah, but this set has every bit you'd ever need at home... Maybe at your h

  22. So you aren't confused, "birdshot" comes in different sizes. The most common in field loads are 7 1/2 and 8 (7 1/2 being "marginally" larger than 8). 9 is the smallest "common" birdshot size then 8, 7 1/2, 6, 4, 2...... More on that here.... http://www.shotgunworld.com/amm.html
  23. This is what caused me to start reloading again after about 25 years.
  24. Doesn't have the safety stop and is $14 moar.
