Hello Im working on my 7.62 conversion and I would like to replace the factory Saiga FSB for one with a lug nut to hold the cleaning rod and be able to install a muzzle device. From what I see there is plenty of info on how to install 74 FSB that comes with 24mm threads ready to be paired with a muzzle brake. How about some pointers on how to install an AKM FSB? Will it go exactly where the factory FSB was installed or a bit closer to the muzzle to fit a slant brake without having to cut the barrel or have that extra .5" of barrel length before the brake? I actually tried that before, while it held the axis pins in there, I didnt feel 100 % secured about MY oem spring mod This is a great idea, I never thought about it might have to give this a try in the future! lol, I agree that plates are "easier to install", however, this is not the part that I will be taking off and on after I install it once. I personally dont think that the axis crook is that much harder to install, what maybe extra min? So as others have mentioned I would rather spend that extra $$ on extra box of ammo.

Does anyone have an extra one of these? I know some people hate them because they are PIA to install so they use the retaining plate instead. The ACE block adapter pictured above mounts with one screw on top same as the one sold by CSS and the pistol grip nut rather than side screws that go into old FCG pin holes. I wanted to do that so I can cover up the holes on the receiver for a cleaner look. No one really answered my question if this block adapter looks to be out of spec. Especially the 2nd pic where the red arrow is pointed, to me it seems that the back plate is deformed/bent, perhaps from over tightening the stock on to it. Hello S12, I have two questions for you: 1) Can you tell if this ACE internal receiver is out of spec and will have any effect on the fitment or functionality, minus the appearance flaws? 2) How can I cover up the holes on the receiver after the conversion where the old pins used to hold the FCG, besides using the nylon plugs. I dont have the welding equipment, I was hoping to use JB weld or something. Any suggestions? Thanks
