  1. Do they let you shoot rifles on the pistol range? If so shoot at the 10 yard target and see where you are. Adjust. Push back to 25. Adjust. Goto 100. Make final adjustments. Done. I shoot in the desert and I've had my scopes be off paper at both 100, and sometimes even 25. So I just always go really close when I install a new scope. Works great.
  2. I have heard numerous recommendations for wolf 154 gr SP. For cost/performance that is. It is cheap so you can practice with the ammo you will hunt with. You can then get used to the change in POI vs standard 123 gr stuff. I have personally not used it.
  3. Practical difference between 7.62x39, .308 and .223 As my wife says after shooting her new .223 "Real men use .30 caliber weapons." I couldn't agree more.
  4. I just installed two TWS dog leg gen 2's. One on a 7.62 x 39, one on a .223. I mounted a PA micro on each rifle. Both mounts and red dots held zero for over 200 rounds each and several openings and closings. My wife and I were just shooting for fun, not groups. So I wasn't benched. I sighted in both rifles quickly prone, then were were able to nail clays standing all day from 50 yards (paced). I will be going to the range in the next few weeks, and will try to shoot groups with each rifle and post pics. No failures of any kind on either rifle.
  5. YOU CANNOT SHOOT 5.45 x 39 THROUGH THE .223 SAIGA You will damage the gun at the very least or hurt yourself or worse. You can shoot 5.56 x 45 (Very close to .223) 5.56 x 45 Nato is nearly identical shape to .223 and it is safe to shoot this in Saiga's chambered in .223 Other .223 rifles may not shoot 5.56 x 45 safely. 5.45 x 39 is a completely different round. If you meant 5.56 well I'm sorry but I don't want anyone to get hurt.
  6. Looking for saiga factory 10 round mags for either .223 or 7.62 x 39. I am located in California.
  7. I can't comment on the primary arms micro just yet, but I have two of them in the mail to me right now. I can say that their customer service is top notch so far. I asked a question on their site about mounting options and I got two emails from two Different guys that guided me in the right direction. One of them eveen gave me a code that was 20 dollars off each unit. That sold me and I bought two right away. Between the bushnell and the PA, they are almost identical from what I gather, the difference is that with the removable base pa micro you can use all the mounts that an aimpoi
  8. My brand new unconverted 16" had no problems with 200 rounds of Brown Bear 62 gr SP. Not a single failure, and all I did after taking the rifle out of the box was quick clean/lube. I did not shoot for groups. I just was plinking with it during the break in period. This was going to be the wifes rifle (Mines a x39) but I may have to rethink that...... Lots of fun.
  9. Thanks! Bookmarked! Heres another one for you. http://www.ammoengine.com
  10. Hot water is a great way to clean the metal. I have cleaned two completely cosmoline soaked rifles this way. They were both SKS. This also worked on other filthy enfields that I found at gun shows. Here's my method that works great for me and my buddies. 1. Dissasemble rifle. Bring a bunch of pots of water to a boil on the stove. 2. Place small parts in the pots. Pour the boiling water on the receiver through the barrel over the sink. It may take several pots. The cosmoline just melts and goes down the drain. (Sorry Mr. Dolphin) Oil parts immediately after drying. 3. To get it out of t
  11. My experience with all firearms is that if the bullet maintains a shape close to that of FMJ it will feed just as reliably. I have never had feeding problems with SP ammo in any firearm. I have had feeding problems with HP ammunition when it was significantly different from FMJ shape, or had too large of a HP.
  12. Thanks for posting this buddykermit. I hadn't seen it before, and just finished watching it.
  13. Get the 5.45 x 39 and convert it. Get atleast 4000 rounds of ammo. Then look back and realize that you could have had a single pistol or all that for the same price. P.S. A pistol is only used to fight your way back to the rifle you shoudn't have left behind in the first place.
  14. Does the Tromix modified tapco FCG sold at CSS have the bump firing problem?
