Front Sight Block ( FSB ) Swap / Removal Tutorial
C.W.M.V. replied to Klassy Kalashnikov's topic in Saiga 5.45
When you have pounded the nails through the holes in the bottom of the FSB, do you have to "smash" the ends of the nail or can you just cut it off flush to the sight block? -
Here are a few of my recently completed baby. Thinking of getting another and going EBR on it.

Like the title says Im looking for a Hammered Gray 1P21, not black. Let me know if you have one for sale.
-
Great seller-parts were VERY reasonably priced (read cheap) and of excellent quality. Also shipped VERY quickly!

Dihydrogen Monoxide... I use it liberally in conjunction with my dishwasher. Works on glocks, works on Ma' Deuce, works on 16's and AK's. Lube em liberally and your good to go.

Write up for FSB install?

That's what I did homie, 10 bucks a piece from Copes for "Bulgarian" (Russian plum) magazine rebuild kits. Then get some of the solar tactical magazine follower stops and epoxy everything together and you'll be GTG.

Ok so how do you get the new FSB back on? Also will installing the new (ak74) FSB add length to the rifle? will it or wont it fit in the same place as the stock FSB?
-
About 500 rounds down the tube on mine in a couple of hours at the range, not a single malfunction using Russian 10/30 plums and no BG.

So with the muzzle brake, I was looking at getting one of Dinzags http://www.dinzagarms.com/brakes_hiders/large/74brake30.jpg Do I need a new FSB? Or can I just thread the end of the barrel as it comes out of the box and be good to go?

I'm going to be ordering my 5.45 on Monday and I plan on converting the front half of the rifle (I live in cali, easier to leave the sporter stock on) So I understand how to remove the old FSB, but how do you install a new one? Ive read around the forum and the only response Ive read was "with a BFH". Can anyone give me a little more detail?
