  1. Oh yea, no worries about me babying it. I always just slam it in. The resistance of the bolt isn't an issue, just an observation. The first thing that came to my mind was that the charging handle would pull the bolt to the right a bit. However I made sure to pull it back evenly across the rails so it wouldn't tilt at all for the pictures. If you look at the last picture I posted, there clearly is an alignment problem of some sort. It isn't I'm worked up about it. This is just my first AK with alignment problems so I was checking to see if this is extreme or not. If you look in the pictures you
  2. Your accuracy issues lie in the absence of a sight tool to adjust your sights. Your "increased resistance" issues are probably caused by not pulling the charging handle all the way to the rear and letting it fly (this "issue" is pretty commonly reported and evolves from folks not running their guns in a manly manner). I may be blind but, the rear sights are non-adjustable right? Are there adjustable rear sights I can slap on here that will work with an ultimak rail? And yes, I was definitely babying my gun when it was catching. It only caught when I was "examining" it. However I
  3. Alright, so about a month ago I purchased an S223 at a gunshow for a good price new in box. I didn't inspect it close enough because I was happy that it was the only one there. I had to wait a couple weeks to shoot it since I'm in college. After putting 60 rounds through it the other week, I notice that the gas tube is slightly canted to the left and is rubbing on the right side of the bolt carrier where it meets the piston. It's impossible to see unless you have the piston there to compare. It has no effect on the function of the rifle except the accuracy. It shoots about 1-2" to the right at
  4. Redneck TRAP shooting. Not skeet.
  5. Well, I have an extended range report. The catcher isn't build heavy enough. The clip that holds the wire on is getting beat to hell and no longer holds the wire in the upright position. I think I'm going to use a piece of wire attached to the handguard to accomplish the same effect. I've used a mix of sights. Over the summer I used my factory sights and didn't have a problem getting in the 20s. However, this is also my slug gun and the factory sights suck since the front post is so massive. I installed the krebs sights with the barrel attached sight. It works great, but the ghost ring sig
  6. Polish and practice. I dremeled mine so its nice and smooth and practice a lot. I don't really have to think about it anymore, it rock/locks perfectly for me.
  7. x2 on the Winchester. When I first got the S12 I did a couple boxes of Remington Sluggers and Winchester value slugs as a comparison. The winchesters won by a long shot (4" group at ~100 yards from a bench) and now they are the only slug that I feed my gun.
  8. I know this is old, but felt like bumping it up do to a safety concern. Lead is hazardous, and I'm assuming your wood stove is in your house like mine.. So you are melting hazardous material in the place you sleep. Do it outside if you are going to do that.. Just my .02
  9. Got a bit of an update. The birchwood casey shell catcher works pretty well with the S12. Out of 50 rounds fired, it only failed to catch 3 shells, but they didn't go very far. It doesn't really catch them like it's designed to do since our guns launch the shells upwards more than the conventional shotgun which launches them sideways for the most part. Basically the catcher just keeps the shell from leaving the gun. It usually either flips the shell around backwards or tries to put the shell back into the chamber, but at an angle. Basically it makes the gun jam every time. But its easier to cl
  10. Both you girls fight back and forth like it's your time of the month. Both of you guys just need to grow up and give it a rest.
  11. I have the Krebs front and rear on my S12 right now. It can work with the factory rear sight. That is how I lined up the front sight to make sure it wasn't crooked. I put the front on first and then looked down the factory sights to make sure that the new sights lined up. The new front post was perfectly shadowed by the old front post at it lowest setting. I actually plan to revert to this setting as soon as I get my factory rear sight in the mail (I had to dremel mine out). The Krebs is a nice sight, but it is no good for trap shooting since you can't see the clay while leading it. As soon as
  12. I'm plenty experienced in buying/selling through forum classifieds, just not this one. I know I'm not a big poster here and am not in the tight-nit community, but I know exactly how it goes. I trust some people from Zr2usa more than a lot of people I know in person. I run a small welding business when I'm not in school and sell/trade roughly 150 products each summer while I'm not in college. Hitches, recovery points, bumpers, light mounts, headache racks, skid plates, you name it and I probably built it (for the Zr2 Offroad community). I don't accept cash. It leaves too much room for error. I'
  13. I'm not going to send cash to someone and wait for them to send me a product. I don't have anything against MSA, I just don't do that and I would never expect anyone to order one of my truck parts by sending me cash. Its just a pain to deal with any problems.
  14. I will definitely purchase one of these adapters as soon as there is a reliable way to send you money without having to send cash through the mail before I have the adapter in hand. I know from personal experience how hard it is to produce and sell a product by yourself. There will always be pissed of people. You can't please everyone. Mistakes happen and the only thing that matters is how the mistake is corrected. Good luck, it looks like you make a hell of a product.
  15. Gun shows around me usually have some good and bad. I've seen stock S12s for 700 and 12rd surefires for 60. But then I've seen Saiga rifle for low 300s and upper 2s. I picked up an S223 for 325 NIB w/ dimpled receiver and am very content with my purchase. There are a lot of deals and a lot of scams.
