  1. True, but what benefit would this extra thickness give when you have to remove the extra thickness to fit them into the weapon? If the extra material was needed, and I think it probably is, shouldn't they engineer the weapon so that it allows for thicker lugs on the magazines? The Russians use the S12 in their military with high capacity magazines and I guarantee you they aren't paying someone to fit all their mags to each gun.
  2. The solution is simple. Ask the doctor if there are any guns in his or her home. "What you don't own a single one? Okay..." Then ask for their home address. Then tell them, "Alright well, I'll be over later tonight." and walk out.
  3. I don't have, or plan to have a 12 gauge Saiga mostly because I don't need one, but that said. My 5.45 and 7.62 take any and all military surplus AK magazines I have come across. How is it that the Saiga rifles can be made to accept this plethora of magazines, but somehow the shotguns cannot, I have no clue. There are presumably millions of magazines in circulation that will fit in these rifles with no modification to the magazines, and just a slight working on the rifle. When I go to a gun show and pick up AK magazines I buy the cheapest milsurp ones I can find and have never, ever, not once
  4. Who made it? I have heard of other people breaking their KVAR US made grip nuts, but mine is, so far good.
  5. I definitely want to get in on the preorders on those quad stacks in both calibers if possible. Sounds like you guys are doing it right. Congratulations on the growth! ETA: Please, please, please put the grooves in the sides of the top of the magazine so we can use 5.45 strippers for these too. Please?
  6. As long as it locks when it is ready to fire, I wouldn't worry one bit. Might just be that it's been used that often. Doesn't sound like it's a problem to me at all. I have an Ithaca 37 that does this to an extent as well. One thing I wonder is... is it any type of aftermarket grip on the pump? I ask because if the foregrip weighs more than factory this could lead to what you describe in theory.
  7. This is my opinion and your mileage may vary. The pros of the angled foregrip are that it is comfortable and doesn't get in the way. The pros of a vertical foregrip are that they are sometimes comfortable. Cons are that both add weight to an already front heavy weapon. I can see how some people really like them, but personally I can run just as well without.
  8. Depending on the age of the WASR it will either be a hammer forged chrome lined barrel, or a US made non-chromed barrel. Basically for a WASR, inspect before you buy. Canted sights and gas blocks show up but almost never affect function. Mine has always worked just as well as my Saiga (don't say that too loud though because some people just KNOW they are junk because they read it on the innernet).
  9. What does it do that any other AR clone doesn't? I mean besides say HK on the side.
  10. Incredibly cool. I love old designs like this.
  11. We also forget that the Soviets also went to other countries and taught them how to build the rifles, built machines for them, set up factories and basically handed out for free all the means of production to anyone who wanted to fight the capitalists. Then suddenly when the walls fell on them, they complain about their design being copied? Hah.
  12. I really am loving the look of the KSG.
  13. There are going to be two types of ammunition during a SHTF scenario. Yours and everyone elses. There will be no scrounging, just stealing. Caliber will not matter at all. If you find a new caliber, it will only be in the posession of another person, who likely has a means to keep you from taking it, or a means to take yours from you. That said, ammunition is not the answer at all. You need food, water and shelter before you ever worry about ammo.
  14. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think they look at it as if you had the means to manufacture your own frames for pistols, or any other weapons for that matter. My understanding is that you just have to serialize them, and possibly mark them with a name of some sort just like a company would and city of manufacture.
  15. Knights Armament SR 47 I'm not sure if it's available for purchase though.
  16. That looks 100 percent normal to me. My Saiga has a gap there. I'm sure Izhmash knows how to assemble a rifle. It's an AK, parts are not supposed to perfectly align and leave no space.
  17. Definitely try it out for yourself to see what works. I have a Fenix light that has a rear switch on it, and I mount it anywhere between 9, 10 or 11 oclock ideally, for using my left thumb. Before settling on this I tried mounting it to many various locations to see what I liked best on different rifles.
  18. That's how mine are on all my AK pattern rifles. Your cleaning kit for the rifle has a small slot that fits over that lever to allow you more leverage.
  19. I'm really glad they are trying to shake off the consoles for this one. PC is the flagship once more finally. The part thats that make me sad are that it will still be arcade Battlefield play. I was spoiled long ago by Red Orchestra as far as damage goes, so now playing most other games I just get mad when I shoot someone and it has no immediate effect upon them. They don't slow down, they don't limp, they just keep moving like nothing happened. I can get past that, but the one thing that truly drives me insane about this game is that even with millions of dollars pumped into the project, Dice
  20. Take a look at an AK firing in slow motion. The entire receiver flexes, a thicker receiver will flex less, and thus, contribute to accuracy, just like a thicker barrel. The reason brand new parts are better, is because the more rounds you force down a barrel, the more it wears out. A factory new barrel from Izhmash will have had less rounds forced down it than a barrel removed from a rifle and built into another rifle. New barrel is where you would get any increase in accuracy. In the AK game, more money gets you prettier rifles, or collector rifles, not necessarily accuracy. The AK is not, an
  21. Given that everything is the same (caliber, shooter, sights) A WASR 10 should shoot just as well as a converted 7.62 Saiga. They are both the same 1mm stamped pattern for the receiver. They are built the same way, and if the sights are on, then they will both exhibit about the same accuracy. This is the AK game, and the design itself is the weak point in making it a target rifle. They are designed to be accurate in battle, as a mass produced, cheaply made, easy to maintain weapon. They all shoot for this purpose. If you want to squeeze accuracy out of a variant, you need to be looking for AK v
  22. Not only is it fine, it's also normal.
  23. They would be the same options that are available for any AK type rifle. I don't have any experience with any of them however.
  24. Possibly it will work. Be warned, I have tried to drill into a trigger guard once and even cobalt was no match for it. I had to heat the part and let it cool to un-harden it, then drill, then reheat and quench. I don't know what those Russians do to their steel but it is amazing...
