hey thanks alot. it seems that everyone ultimak setup i have seen is on saiga that has a modified gas block(the traditional ak look). the front end of my rifle is completely stock. would i still be able to fit the ultimak? This will be my first optic so i was just gonna get some cheap to medium price, but from what im hearing that would be a mistake so im gonna look into something of the aimpoint nature.

hey would i be able to co-witness the sights if i used the side mount? it seems the easiest to use and I really like the quick detach. What is the difference between the reflex and tube sights? as in why should i use one over the other thanks

Hey guys, i am loving my saiga 7.62 but i am not a huge fan of the ak sights. I really dont want to mess with the stock irons and was looking at getting an optic. I will be mounting it with the Leapers UTG 5th gen quick detach mount. I am looking for suggestions and feedback on which red dot optic will be the best (accurate, durable, and reliable). I am really leaning to this BSA red dot with laser and flashlight combo. Anyone have any experience with BSA or this model? http://www.opticsplanet.net/bsa-optics-panoramic-green-red-dot-sight-with-laser-and-light-combo.html

Hey guys, i took my 7.62 to the range for the first time yesterday. put about 80 rounds through the gun, and so far so good. i was wondering how everyone else cleans their gun especially the gas block. i cleaned and oiled everything i could reach(piston, bolt, bolt carrier, barrel). Could not cleaning the gas block cause problems and what is the best way to clean it? Thanks

if you could post the pics that would be awesome. The guy seemed pretty set on the idea that the tapco and the kvar were identical. but i had seen posts on this forum saying they were different. I think he just didnt want to take the time and change the bushing Nope. I know exactly the problem the OP's experiencing, because I had the same problem with pg "wobble" when I tried to use some non-Tapco AK grips with Tapco pg nuts. They are not mil-spec, and are meant for Tapco AK pg's specifically. The US-made pg nuts that K-Var sells are mil-spec, and will properly fit all AK grips without any

Hey guys, i got my converted x39 back from the gunsmith with a side to side and a little forward wiggle. He used the tapco bushing with the hogue ak47 grip. After some research, i ordered a bushing from kvar (made by arsenal). The gunsmith said a new bushing would not work because they are both mil spec. Is this true? He told me the only way to fix the wiggle was to order the tapco grip. I would really like to use the hogue, but i do not have the tools to install new bushing. Any ideas?

That's right. If you use a Tapco pg nut, most AK grips will wobble.. because the Tapco product is not designed correctly. My advice is to replace the Tapco with a pg nut from K-Var, which are US-made and mil-spec. H Hey thanks for all the quick replies. The K-VAR nut you're talking about is it the one manufactured by arsenal? Im a little to scared to try and grind the tapco myself

Hey dudes Just got my saiga back from the gunsmith today. I went with the hogue ak47 pistol grip. Needless to say i was surprised to find that the hogue grip wiggles back and forth and side to side (more side to side). Is this normal? Should i ask the gunsmith? Also there is no bottom to the grip. Does anyone know where to find one?

Hey guys just got my new 7.62 a couple days ago and am about to purchase conversion parts. I really like the kvar nato length stock (http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=16313). I am unsure if i need a stock that attaches to a stamped or milled reciever? That kvar is milled. Thanks
