  1. The Canadian TC21 version uses a different barrel length to all the others, since the Canadians have a different barrel-length rule than the US (>470mm/18.5"). That alone will drive up prices compared to a 'standard' one (18" bbl) off the assembly line.
  2. Interesting... Would be a bit nicer than .300 Whisper, since that has a different case head.
  3. I might even succumb to one if it's over $1500. It'll just take me longer to save up.
  4. 3 MOA with Irons? Not bad, that's definitely 1 MOG (minute-of-German)
  5. Oh, and y'all owe me at least one beer for reading legalese at freaking 2350 in the pm! Ezell has a two-step scope decision, first step is 'is the restricted activity protected by the Second Amendment in the first place,' followed by an 'inquiry into the strength of the government’s justification for restricting or regulating the exercise of Second Amendment rights.' Judge holds that Heller only applies to the possession of firearms in the home (and quotes sections from Heller specifically limiting the Supreme Court decision to weapons in the home. I am not digging through the entire
  6. Hey, if I'm going to express my displeasure in a way that will get me arrested, I ain't going to spit on the man. Waste of perfectly usable saliva. Hit him with a pair of shoes, however... And it still isn't treason. Assault, yes.
  7. MPK or MEK should leave the parkerizing alone. I would expect it to strip everything else, though.
  8. What amazes me is that none of the vets they have pissed off (which would be all of them) has given WBC a terminal case of curbstomp... They just rev the bikes a little louder. If they showed up in Idaho, I'm not sure they would leave any way but feet first.
  9. But it sure looks funny at the range or in the field to have a bayonet hanging off your rifle!
  10. Too bad that still has the buggered trigger location, but that does look like a nice stock...
  11. Methyl Propyl Ketone... Nasty shit, but it will take the round, not just the shine, off a bowling ball. It's not as fast-acting as Methyl Ethyl Ketone, but it's not as toxic, either. You can find either MPK or MEK at a home depot in the paint section. Minimum PPE is a paint mask with VOC cartidges and NITRILE gloves. MEK/MPK dissolves latex pretty much instantly, and goes through your skin just as fast.
  12. Negative, GOB. Treason is very precisely defined, and telling the sitting POTUS that you think he is one of the worst to ever occupy the seat is not on the list of things that constitute treason. Personally, I'd wear a nice shirt, something like a "Santorum 2012"... not confrontational, but expressing my displeasure just the same.
  13. Haven't noticed any stinging with the CZ, but it *is* bigger than what you have been looking at. The smaller pistols just didn't fit my hand right. If I was buying a gun for the lady, I'd take her to the store and start at one end of the pistol counter until you have 4-5 that feel good, then see if there are some available to rent at the range to try out.
  14. 5" rock in a dirt road will screw up the tire if you hit it square on, that's for sure. But the good Subaru Imprezas (NOT the riceburner wanna-be drifters) actually have 7" of clearance and skidplates, plus you'd hit frame before you hit the oil pan.
  15. Sig522 is nice, but needs to run wet. I'd love to find an AK in .22LR, just for familiarization (hell, or even an airgun)
  16. Yup, he's a "professional Russian". Wish I had his access to toys, though. And the ammo budget that does with them!
  17. CZ75 compact. First pistol I tried that actually pointed where I wanted it without fighting it (started at the little-bitty end of the pistol counter, and kept trying guns until I found one that fit). Holds 14+1, but the full-size magazines fit just fine for 18+1. Little pricey ($500), little heavy (all-steel). Really nice shooting, though.
  18. Hey, Indy? Read this blog: http://ambulancedriverfiles.com/ Dude's been an EMT for about 20 years. They really do see shit like that in the ER, and tend to get a really lousy attitude for people abusing the emergency medical services system for pain meds.
  19. Oh, and for what it's worth, the Subarus are really popular in Idaho (outside of Boise, where 90+% of the idjits are). They're usually the 'going into town' car because they get good mileage and are hard to get stuck, especially the older ones with the real 4wd instead of the Awd. I'd love to get a deuce-and-a-half, seen some for sale in the ~$3000 range surplus. But it helps that a friend of mine is an old diesel mechanic and knows how to make 8-71s purr.
  20. Oh, HELL no, don't get an aluminum POS, get a saiga .223! (or x39, if you like it old school)
  21. Most of the targets I've seen are intended for birdshot smacks, but I think a .410 is just too light. Especially for any spinners.
  22. You ever tried to stop one, Hammer? Subaru is a damn tough car, that can be abused severely and still run. Needs less TLC than an aircooled VW, too.
  23. Note that the dude never said that you would not get an RX if he didn't think you needed it. Or even that he wouldn't give you an Rx if you were probably a drug-seeker. But don't be stupid about your story and you will be out faster! Speaking as a guy who is actually allergic to both latex and morphine, with a history of kidney stones and a massively traumatized back, I really wish I could take heavier pain meds.
  24. Well, them Russkies like using 4" or more of hardened steel plate as one of the layers in their armor. Takes a bit more oomph to put holes in that.
