  1. By order of the woman, I was forced to lop off a good 6-7 inches of my hair in favor of something more "stylish"... I feel like I look like a douche.

      Then I guess I can't complain. Fortunately I don't behave like one.

Positive vibes from the women, eh? I hear ya. I hate dressing up, but it's funny how my girl's friends all complimented on how I looked at a wedding we were at. While I felt like a douche in the dress clothes....the ladies loved it.

Yup, I woke up this morning trying to put my hair up for the morning routine only to remember it's gone :(

  2. If you're that concerned, just take it out and give it one good shot, and make it count. When that's done, tuck it away in a nice case for all to enjoy Honestly, I'd shoot the hell out of it. I've got two WWII 1911s that mean the world to me and I do everything to keep them in top shape, but one of them is my carry gun that I shoot every weekend!! I have no intention of getting rid of them. While to hardcore collectors, my use of them may devalue them, but who cares if you never plan to sell them? These two babies are going to the grave with me.
  3. I'm having the same problem with my Taurus Model 86. I've contacted Taurus USA, Taurus Europe (since I purchased the gun there at a Rod and Gun club), and Taurus Brazil with no avail. I've looked on gunbroker, and someone had parts, but not the ones I was looking for. I've checked gun shows, local shops, and contacted some other folks I know to see if they had anything. Nothing. Good luck on your search, we both need it.
  4. Called some local shops and some gunbroker users. No luck AT ALL. This is insane... It's easier finding parts to something that's over 100 years old than this hunk of junk.

Thanks for trying though, brother. If I had the right equipment, I could make the parts myself, but I just don't have access to what I need :(

This guy has one, not sure if it's a decent price or if it's available.

  5. Yeah, just take off a little at a time, and use some snap caps or dummies to test feeding. Good luck!
  6. If you look at standard mags, you'll notice where the mag meets the guide, there's a slight depression. If you look at Saiga factory mags, this isn't present. All you have to do it take a way a little bit of the material. Depending on the amount of overhang, this might not have to be done at all. Standard mag is on the left, and Saiga mag is on the right.
  7. Numrich doesn't have what I need, gunbroker doesn't either. I'm this close to chucking this worthless gun into the sun.

  8. Is now the proud owner of a Taurus Model 86 Target Master Revolver paperweight. Why? Because neither Taurus USA, Taurus Europe, or Taurus Brazil seem to have the parts I'm looking for.

I'm trying, but I don't speak a lick of portugese, and I don't think the translator is working well.

In addition to the Taurus's looking good externally but shitty internally, I agree that trying to obtain replacement parts can be a real pain in the ass most of the time.

All I really need is a hand. While the gear and hammerblock look a little messed up, they function flawlessly.

  9. Looks good so far!! If it got any better I might have a spontaneous orgy!
  10. You are a whore with those baklite mags... I almost scored a nice one, but someone bought it up as opposed to bidding on it.
  11. Well, someone had privileged info, but they refuse to elaborate now after claiming they'd spill all the beans when the time came. The time has come and gone now and still very little words At any rate, I doubt they'll stay around $300 for long. It won't be long before this happens again, as the whole importation process and who's getting what seems to be more tangled up than cables being run along the streets of India.
  12. To me, he seemed a lot more funny when you couldn't see him telling the joke. I watched one of his specials the other day, and it just didn't have the same effect as just listening to him via record/cd/etc.
  13. Yeah, San Antonio really has shit for gun stores.
  14. VaiFanatic will always accept gun donations Hey now! I'm loved around these parts But instead of another 7.62x39, I need to get on getting a 5.45
  15. There are a more parts in the imported FCG, so I doubt much sanding and smoothing of parts would make much of a difference. Then again I've never tried. However, I'm of the mindset that after a few hundred rounds you'll end with the same results. Ymmv.
  16. Cheap! That reminds me of MAD magazine, hahahaha. I seriously wish I jumped on this :/ But my birthday is coming up, and none of you got me gifts last year... so yeah
  17. I've got one of their all matching Garands, produced in the 50s. It is a flawless best, and it's a joy to shoot! You can't go wrong with it.
  18. Mine is scheduled for Monday but will be available Tuesday. The gun shop I go through is closed on Sun/Mon I have that same problem around here too. But frankly, after going to every gun shop in this city, I determined they're assholes who sell shit totally overpriced. Gunshows don't seem to be getting any better, can't always trust the "great deals" you're getting. $350 is a bit much for me, partner. I bought my 7.62x39mm for $305, and the .223s were priced the same. I just hope they won't increase in price, once they've got them back in. I bought my Saiga 12 a matter of months ago
  19. Debating a 4.3L vortec or a 3.9L cummins to swap into the Jeep. Wish I could pop in the 3.9L without a lift kit :/

    1. VaiFanatic90

      VaiFanatic90

31s without a lift are great! I still clear obstacles well and can crawl most rocks even. I'm at about 33650 miles on my 4.0 in the TJ, and I'm the original owner of the car, so I've been good to it. It's a '97 :P

Dang, mines a '99. I'm at 4.5" lift to clear the tires and wheel backaspacing.

Just so much to consider. The 35 in the rear is gonna go for either a 44 and Ford 8.8" So even if I don't do the engine swap, I am swapping axles.

  20. I drilled and tapped my dust cover and just threw on an extra metal rail I had laying around. I used some VERY short stainless screws and locknuts underneath as well (from Lowes)....and used loc-tite to boot. I have a Bushnell TRS 25 red dot mounted on it (this is a Saiga 7.62). This set up is ROCK SOLID. I used this rifle like this all of last year shooting 3-gun and I have NEVER lost zero with the red dot and did very, very well with my scores!! Pics or it didn't happen!! But seriously, I'd like to see what you came up with.
  21. Well, it's all about the shooter for the most part. If you take your time, you can shoot an AK fairly accurate despite what the naysayers tell you.
  22. Post a pic of that symbol if you would, I'm curious to see.
  23. Lucky bastards!! I should have picked another up, but with the way things were going as of late, I was too preoccupied with sorting that shit out.
  24. Another valid point, I would prefer a milled MAK over the M60 even.
  25. Same here. Real bright at night. Can see the gun on my night stand in the dark. When I got it, I woke up one night and thought it was a small rodent looking at me from my dresser. Hahaha! That's funny about the rodent part
