saigasaurusrex I went through the same thoughts as you are. But I ended up going with a Saiga and converting it. Plus doing the conversion you learn your rifle inside and out and you can build it how you want.

Got my complete stock set in yesterday. It looks great. Thanks a lot. May have to put in another order for some other parts.

I am looking for a US black polymer Warsaw length stock for a Saiga 7.62.

I know I can get it from there just looking for one where shipping cost almost as much as the part.

This might be a long shot. Anyone one have a axis pin retaining plate for a S12 they don't want? Or have an extra one they are willing to let go of.

Not sure off hand, but my Saiga feels no heavier than my WASR-10. I am more wondering of how much it weights compared to a polymer stock set.

I just got mine in the mail today. In the instructions it says to make a dimple for the set screw. Looks like the dimple if decently needed to keep the hand guard from moving.

Does anyone know how much the furniture set weighs?

I just ordered one can't wait to see what it looks like.

This might be a stupid question, but have you tried to move the retainer back so it sits tighter against the handguard?

What lower handguard retainer do you have?

I just saw this on CSS site. HANDGUARD RETAINING LOWER BRACKET Does anyone know if this is a part CSS is making now? Or is it the same one that Dinzag Arms sells?

You will have to order the gas tube and the retaining lower bracket. They do not come as part of the conversion kit.

I have a question about the bolt carrier. I did a search and couldn't find an answer to my question. Small amount of background.... I picked up a 7.62X39 for a member on here about at week ago. I got the rifle home and noticed most of the paint had been taken off of the bolt carrier. I figured it was because they were going to polish it and didn't get it completely finished. My question is...Is there any real benefit to polishing the bolt carrier? Or is it mostly just for looks?
