  1. Glad to hear all is well, I once was in situation in Oregon but was able to see trouble far enough away. Long story short I backed out called police they picked up the guy. He was just out of prison and had been up & down the coast robbing and stealing. My caliber of choice is .357 mag. it has a proven 96% 1 shot stop. One thing about automatic's, even the best of them, high stress can cause a jam because your main focus isn't on how you're holding the gun. If your kinda shook up (and who wouldn't be) under stress your wrist might not be ridged enough to allow the gun to function as it's i
  2. The bullet drop is hard to explain but I'll keep it short. The scope was set @ 2.5 power and I ended up putting the cross hair( where it meets the reticle, its a duplex style ) right on the target, when I turned the power up to 10x the target would've been at the very bottom of the sight picture. My friend who was also shooting at that target w/a .308 bolt action was set at 10x on his scope and was hitting really low. The angle of the shot was about 15% or so down hill. I'd like to know the exact range, but when the .308 was hitting that low I knew we were really reaching out there. There wer
  3. When I made the shots the rifle was rested in a front and rear rest. It could have been rum-n-coke that affected my aim. I usually drink a lot of that but that day I hadn't .

Any report on how the .308 holds up on the AK platform? Did they beef it up enough to make it last as long as the lower pressure caliber's? I was just wondering if your home work found out any info. I'm guessing you won't live long enough to wear it out but the .308 has got some major pressures.
  6. Thanks for all the heartfelt condolences. I'm glad to have found a place where strangers really care, It kinda renews my hope in mankind, but as we all know real people are few and far in between
  7. Just in case anybody noticed I haven't been around. Here's an update, My Mom died, daughter w/child (oh yea my 1st grand child), moved, new job, wife back to work, etc. etc. etc. But I did get my saiga dropped of for a custom air brush camo paint job and will be sending photo's A.S.A.P! This forum is a wealth of info and the members who supply it are top notch. When I get a little more stable I'll become a contributing member. This site is worth it!!!
  8. A very late response but thanks for the info and after research I agree with you. But when can you come over and polish my F.C.G? This weekend works for me. I love the Tapco line of products, install a bullet guide and get mags for $8 w/anti-tilt followers very tight fit w/no jams

  9. If you're single you DON'T have enough guns!!!!!! If you're married you might be pushing it unless you've found the perfect women!!!! But anyway nice pic's. Thanks for sharing!!!!!
  10. Thanks for all the input everybody I admit the video was boring but I'll work on that, nothing like seeing the shot placement!!! I plan on doing another video at much longer ranges 300-400 meters on clay pigeons and frozen milk jugs. I'm only experimenting for my own pleasure and sharing the video's for your hopeful enjoyment, Ive added a bi-pod because the rest I was using affected my trigger pull. I will add this comment, I'll take shot placement any day over a larger caliber firearm that hinders shot placement although no matter the caliber it is usually a lack of practice that hinders sh
  11. When I post again I'll work on less talking and more shooting, hope it wasn't to boring for ya. Thanks for the input.
  12. Very nice thanks for sharing the pics. Really looking forward to the range report!!!!!!
  13. Check this video and let me know what ya think.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRlrI4I5Rlc
  14. That's a nice looking weapon, I now have a quad rail on mine and am waiting for my site to be returned by aim sport,Its a holographic I bought used and really worked well except one issue, the green light would flicker if you tapped on the top of the battery housing. I called the factory and they offered to send me a new one at no cost even though they knew I bought used!!!!! That's pretty cool. When we were shooting with that site we all agreed it was like cheating when the gun was shot from a solid rest.
