  1. My only trigger-time experience with an H&K roller delayed product is with an HK770 rifle. It didn't have a bad trigger at all, but then it's not a military weapon, it's a hunting/target rifle. Otherwise, same experience as most other people: reliable, accurate, DIRTY, ejected brass reaches escape velocity and is usually pretty mangled. Problem with that rumor is that a delayed blowback rifle won't run without a fluted chamber. Blowback force can't overcome chamber wall friction, that's why they* did the fluted chamber in the first place. The Pedersen rifle had the same proble
  2. It seems too coherent to be a spammer, but I've been wrong before. More than likely I think it's just one of those situations where someone goes a-googling for threads related to whatever they have, find one and chime in, but forget to check the date on the thread. I've been guilty of that in the past and make a habit now of always checking the date of the last post lest people think me a fool. But again I could be wrong, those bots are getting more and more clever...
  3. Actually there was, called the HARK adapter kit, however they seem to be rarer then hen's teeth. I have only ever seen one photo of one, and have no idea how well they worked.

      Sorry to hear.

I'm a migraine sufferer & when I hurt my neck, I had muscle spasims that would pinch a nerve & I'd get a full blown migraine & the worst shooting neck pain imaginable... I think I about know how you feel.

  6. ..........that is a very good question. The only thing I can think of is go to the auction websites and try to find a poor condition PU for cheap and cannibalize it for parts.
  7. In general I'm in league with Jpanzer. If I had to pick some though... Anne Bonnie and Mary Read, aka Pirate Mary Miyamoto Musashi is an obligatory role model for anyone remotely interested in combat.
  8. Putting together a bunch of home-made $20 zip guns for 10 times that price in gas sounds like a deal to me! Seriously though, this is fuckin' retarded.
  9. Yeah, unless the aftermarket magazine requires a different proprietary latch (which would be stupid on the company's part, but companies have done stupider things in the past) I see no reason at all why you wouldn't be able to use the stock latch.
  10. Forgive my ignorance, but I don't see why the Drag-style stock or detachable duckbill mags would force you to use a different mag catch. At least, I never saw such a thing back when I was shopping for accessories for my own. What brand of mag is this?
  11. Right in that divot is where the gas escape ports are for the cylinder. It doesn't get hot enough to damage the carrier or bolt, and I never said it did; you'd lose your barrel long before that. I would not however want to stick my bare fingers there after a few hundred rounds. As for the bolt carrier divot having always been there since before the dust cover, I can't prove you wrong, but I can say that I have never seen an AR-10 without one, going all the way back to the prototypes. Here's some old ArmaLite promotional material; notice that this is a prototype model that predate
  12. Well, yes, that divot is really just there so that the dust cover can close, but it can be used as a FA. Only problem with that is after several hundred rounds the AR's bolt carrier is a bit hot for that. As for the ACR, I was thinking something more along the lines of TIG welding a piece of aluminum tubing into the left side of the receiver for an AR style FA plunger.

  14. ^^^This. The old adage "it's easier to get forgiveness than permission" does not apply to the ATF. I would imagine so, yes, but PLEASE mail the ATF Firearms Technology Branch and find out for sure. No one here will take responsibility if you don't and it gets you in trouble.
  15. GREEN is the striker and cocking knob RED is the sear BLUE is the trigger (duh) BROWN is the spring for the sear and magazine catch That should give you an idea of how the thing works. The problem is that the trigger has no return spring, nor any take-up adjustment; it just hangs there doing whatever whatever it pleases. Dunno about on the Ishapore rifles or the SMLE No.1 Mk.3, but on the No.4 Mk.1 the trigger is pinned to the trigger guard (as shown in the pic/diagram) while on the No.4 Mk.2 it's pinned to the receiver.
  16. On a related note, I want a rifled-bore Saiga-12 or -20 because WA state doesn't allow SBS's but does allow DDs. Sounds like something I'm going to have to deal with on my own though.
  17. I think that's a matter of semantics that not even the ATF is particularly concerned with. Most shotshells still have a metallic base and before they were plastic all shotshells were paper, and before that they were all full-brass. The progression of different materials has more to do with reducing the cost of manufacture than anything else, and it has also been done (albeit rather poorly) with centerfire rifle and pistol cartridges. Point being, it's too difficult to try to make a distinction between what constitutes a shotshell and what constitutes a rifle/pistol cartridge (not that I put
  18. Yep, Enfield trigger wiggle is normal, at least on every single No.4 I've handled including the two I owned.
  19. No worries. I've been registered here for almost 5 years, and have never own an AK of any kind! I spend most of my time here trying to convince people that the AR-15 isn't crap; I think I've converted maybe two or three people... Anyway, welcome!
  20. Warning: I am not a lawyer, so if you decide to take my word as sound legal advice and wind up in court, tough luck. Also, this shit is confusing, so take notes. It has to do not only with the presence of rifling but also with bore size and barrel length. For future reference, Title I means you can buy it over-the-counter at your local gun shop, and Title II means it's an NFA weapon subject to months of waiting and the dreaded $200 black stamp. Anything larger than .50 caliber qualifies as a Title II "Destructive Device," unless the BATFE decides that a particular weapon has a leg
  21. I think L5K hit the nail on the head. +1 for getting the .308 Win.
  22. Nothing makes me happier than the DIY spirit. Good on ya, mate.
  23. Israeli FAL, Steyr StG.77A1 AUG, MSAR STG-556, Robinson Armament XCR, and the H&K G41, along with the PSG1 sniper rifle. Most other H&K roller delayed rifles have a thumbprint-shaped serration on the side of the bolt carrier you can push on through the ejection port. Forward assist doesn't have a single thing to do with reliability of the weapon; it has to do with making sure the bolt is fully seated into battery. On any rifle with a reciprocating charging handle, AK included, you can simply jam forward on said charging handle. On any rifle with a non-reciprocating charging hand
  24. @MT Predator: It looks like that Martini has a safety lever on it; is it a Greener-made rifle? Duh, I forgot the Martini has a cocked-state indicator on it, that's what that is. Anyway, that is a pretty sweet piece of hardware. One of these days I want a Greener Egyptian Police Mk.III shotgun with the 14.5 gauge bottlenecked brass shells.
