  1. thanks. cleared it right up. settled for an adjustable wrench and just tried to flare out the area where they contact.
  2. well I just finished my conversion and everything is considerably smooth except one thing. The safety lever seems to extend higher than it use to before the conversion. the safety it self still functions like it should, stoping the bolt when it is pointed at the "S" and locking the trigger, and the guns works properly. But when you pull the lever up past the "S" mark it jumps off of the frame and onto the bolt. Is there anything i can do to stop this? full conversion:
  3. Just did my conversion and I didnt have to grind anything thankfully. you might not either.

    Magpul vs Tapco

I have a tri-rail Forearm from Tapco and it's very nice.
  5. this was just a first fast and rough try at it. there's already a bunch of cracks in the wood that will make if breakable. Im going to make another rough version, and then if im happy with that, I will get some actual good wood. ... then it's on to the buttstock.

    stuffy stuff
  7. so I got a few inspired hours today and decided to mangle out me a wood fore-end for my Saiga-12 out of some fire wood(sweet-gum i think). about 3 hours later and some handy work with a Miter saw and a wood chisel, I have a passable wood fore-end that needs sanding. It's incredibly ugly though. I plan to find some better wood stock to build with, but over all I don't want to mangle it when I do another. any one out there make their own wood? what tools did you use? any good places to find some interesting wood stock?
  8. it fired the last time I shot it. so yes, I would. do i plan on throwing it in the mud and leaving it under a pile of sand for 3 months and not clean it, and still expect it to work as previously? NO. That would be retarded.
  9. Im not always a mall ninja, but when i am, I wear an Onion sack. Great vid! I'd love to see some stuff on .410 shells now too!
  10. 922r compliance isn't required until it's converted, if I recall correctly. and when you convert it, if you just buy a conversion, it should be 922r compliant with just the parts from the kit. the more US made parts you have the safer though. you already have the mag covered, so that would be 3 more parts.(well within safe limits)
  11. A magazine that reaches the same weight as my gun and 2x the encumbrance? no thanks.
  12. Neato. Always liked the metal casing of the Russian shotgun ammo. not sure they would be worth shooting though. having to trim all of them first. if it's just the one box, i'd hold onto them. ... loading these wouldn't damage the chrome lining of the barrel, would they?

    SGM mags?

didnt really find anything on them in the search, so... 1. are they good: reliable, feed well, durable 2. is the 8rd any less bulkier than the 10rd? (magazines in general, really) 3. does anyone have any other preferred Saiga-12 mags they use and like. (Price is a considerable factor)
