  1. from what I've understood is that the mag century supplies with these is a modded 5.45 mag and the reason they dont function well is because they still use a 5.45 follower.....so, why not buy up some 5.45 mags, and replace the followers with a 5.56 one instead?
  2. I know what'll settle the matter...how about the OP gets his draco chopped, THEN we do a side by side ballistics comparison between it and a 9mm at 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 yards and see how hard hitting this thing really is!
  3. intresting idea about mounting it to one or the other sides....any particular welding method to be used for this?
  4. So I'm getting into modifying (nothing illegal of course lol) my AK just for fun, so I got the bright idea of having a charging handle mounted to the top of the bolt carrier. Any thoughts on how one would go about doing this besides the obvious welding and cuts in the dust cover? I'm thinking something unlike the original charging handle as well so as not to block the sights......maybe like an UZI or one of the earlier thompsons that had their charging handles mounted on top.....and yes I know this is 110% totally impractical, but I think it might look kinda cool/intresting on a draco
  5. well I don't honestly know the details on making it shorter, I do know that to get that handle onto your bolt carrier you've got to take the old charing handle off (your preffered method, but keep in mind you've got weld on it later) and then as previously stated weld on the new charging handle
  6. right....so these are for sale, yes? and on the folder...is that a modded safety I see there??? looks as though there is a little tab coming down of it, almost seems like it would be within reach of one's trigger finger.....if not I apologize for my idiocy, but it gave me an idea haha
  7. That and most Kalashnikov style rifles have the stamped 1mm receiver, which will be a little lighter than your typical milled receiver. Being both lighter and thinner than a milled reciever will cause some extra vibration, its just the name of the game. Another thing I don't think anyone else has touched on yet is chrome vs. non-chrome lined barrel, from all I've come to understand a non-chrome lined barrel when properly cleaned (with regards to shooting corrosive surplus ammuniton) will generally shoot slightly better than a chrome lined one. The reason for this is any imperfections in the ri
  8. Maybe, but I'm not drilling holes in it for a plastic piece of crap. Going with something different that provides more leverage to dump the mag with trigger finger. The EMA doesn't really work all that great. if it was me I would drill two holes vertically into the mag release, get a piece of sheet metal (aluminum or steel but preferably steel of course) that could simply serve as an extension of the mag release. Then I would get two small screws and a small nut to fit it and semi-permanently fix it in place with some loc-tite. Maybe add some sort of a rubber to sheath it in like what
  9. dumb idea, but I think if you drilled a couple small holes so the screws could actually go through instead of just having a friction based attachment it'd probably stay on better; just a thought and I've had no experience with it, so just keep that in mind lol
  10. I was thinking the same thing, with prices for a mosin at $69-79 you could afford to spend a little something on a fancy stock, plus prices for 54R are still super low...
  11. I've never had any experience on the AMD Hungarian builds, BUT I do really like the look of them, especially the lower handguard, but that seems to be a point of contention with others; seems like its either ya love it or hate it sorta things
  12. Is the blade legit? and I agree, need close ups on those hand guards! either way it looks sick
  13. I'm not sure which thread this came up in, but someone said that many draco owners have measured their respective barrel lengths and have come back as 11.5, 12, or 12.5 inches. To me that would make it difficult to find a cleaning rod that would fit the exact length of their respective draco, of course if you really wanted to go through the trouble you could buy an extra standard length cleaning rod, shorten it to the length you need it, then thread it
  14. Not at all, lol. I keep a weather app on my phone for here in SC, and for up in my hometown in NY, so I know the prime time to rub it in my friend's/fam's faces up in NY. They got a lot of pictures of the bright and sunny weather down here, when the snow-Gods shit on them up there. the snow-Gods shit on SC some too this year still I'm sure not to the extent as NY, and we have insane amounts of pollen to deal with instead!!!
  15. another possibility is that the twist rate on your barrel doesnt match up properly with the grain weight of your barrel, for example a 1/12 rate with say a 62grain might cause something like this, I know wolf 5.45 comes in 70, 60 and 53 grain varieties
