  1. When shortening gas system 3.75", where do you cut the carrier? when I measure 3.75 from the end of the piston, looks like I have to cut all of the piston off and the nose of the carrier. Is that right?
  2. I am in the process of shortening the gas system 3.75" for an 8" SBS build. When I measure the carrier/piston and mark 3.75" it looks like I'd cut the whole piston off and some of the carrier. Please post a pic and/or describe where you make the cut. Also, what handguards are available for the 8" barrel? All I see is this Tromix. Will it fit a standard Saiga with the block moved back 3.75" ? What else is available off the shelf? yes, I have approved Form 1 and all NFA laws are being followed
  3. Were any full auto Saiga 12's registered with NFA before '86? Not sure if they even existed back then. Is it possible/legal to convert a transferable AK style rifle into a 12 gauge?
  4. Are 2-3/4" slugs and 00 considered "heavy" ? Or is setting #1 for 3" loads only? I ask because I use gas setting #2 all the time, mostly shoot cheap #8 birshot and sometimes I shoot slugs or 00 buck. Gun runs 100%. Slugs and 00 seem heavy to me, but are they heavy enough for #1 setting?
  5. Love my 20rnd drum, would love another one, especially if free! my winning number is 8000
