  1. Here are a couple photographs of my Romanian manufactured WASR model 10/63 rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. This is a single stack magazine only adaptation, marketed as a hunting/sporting configuration. Does not include threaded barrel, flash surpressor, or a bayonet lug either. Imported by Century Arms Inc, this model has not been modified by grinding out the mag well with a dremel tool. Receiver indicates firearm was manufactured in 1983. Not any overly impressive grouping by any means but 23/24 hits and nearly every hit is a fatal shot. Hope to improve next time at the range.
  2. I put a quick detach scope mount with a Bushnell Red Dot sight on my Saiga and was getting pretty decent and tight groups at 25 yards. Groupings should significantly improve as I become more familiar with the rifle and more I shoot it. Put only about 160 rounds through it so far.
  3. Here are a couple updated photographs of my Saiga 223. Entirely stock with the exception of the UTG Leapers aluminum quick-detach scope mount, Bushnell Trophy 1x32mm Red/Green Dot, and Streamlight Strion weapon light (no pictured). No accessories planned for the near future other than additional magazines, ammunition, and a reliable/good three point sling.
  4. Thanks for all of the information and tips, I appreciate it all. I picked up a Leaper's UTG aluminum side mount, I was skeptical at first but now I am satisfied with it after getting it installed and the red dot mounted on board. This is the generation 5 model with a quick release lever, which allows the operator to disgard the mount/optics quickly and easily without any tools. It has a handy side rail too which is perfect for my Streamlight Strion weapon light.... not pictured. I am planning on taking it to the range tomorrow and trying it out with the new mount.
  5. Thanks for the suggestions and information. That is an older picture, I've started the conversion process to be 922® compliant. The UTG 978 looks like an affordable option, I appreciate the posts!
  6. I own a factory original Saiga 223 rifle, over all its a great rifle and I am very satisfied with the quality and performance of the firearm. Currently I have a Bushnell Trophy red/green dot attached to a Promag aluminum side mount. Its a nice red dot sight but the promag mount is very high from the dust cover which makes it impossible to utilize a stable cheek weld while firing the weapon and using the optic. See photograph of my setup below... I explored some additional options including an above the dust cover MOLOT super-low mount with a weaver top-mount (MOLOT mount) for $129.97, the T
  7. Here is my Saiga 223 caliber rifle. I have had this weapon since February 2010 and put about 125 rounds down range with it so far. Overall I am impressed with the accuracy/simplistic design and satisfied with the quality and durable functionality of the rifle. I think the Saiga 223 is an exceptional firearm for the price and under estimated by many. I think this would be a very good "go to" rifle in the time of a natural or man made disaster/critcal incident. My particular weapon is primarily stock, I did add a Promag aluminum scope mount and attach a Bushnell Trophy red/green dot sight. The P
