  1. I was also thinking about using spray foam. I was going to take a lead or metal pipe/tube and hold it in the center while I sprayed the foam to see if that helps. Good idea!
  2. I've only fired 8 rds through it when it had the CAA stock. It held fine. The main reason for removing it was the quick detach mount wouldn't go on due to the sling mount on the stock. Since removing the stock I decided to cut off the left side sling loop and may reinstall the CAA stock. The Tapco stock feels light. We'll see what happens.
  3. I finally decided on the Uinta mags. I added the UTG quick release scope mount with lever lock rings and a 6x Leapers scope (I've had success with this scope before). I changed my CAA AR style stock with a plain jane fixed Tapco. I haven't had a chance to test the mags out or sight in the scope. I did find a way to carry my mags. I took a military M16 mag pouch, cut off the side grenade straps and mag dividers, and the Uinta mags fit perfectly (turned sideways of course). I ran a pull ring from a flash bang through the hole in the back and attached an SKS sling to the ring and there you
  4. So should I not buy the current csspecs 20 rd mag and wait until the "redesigned" version comes out?
  5. Thanks, all I have is still the factory mag. I'm still debating between Surefire's, Uinta's, or Csspecs.
  6. Mini range test today inbetween groups at our dept qualification. I got to fire 8 rds (fmj ball ammo) from 50 yds from a rest consisting of a cardboard box with a jacket rolled up on top . One flyer that was 3 in away but the remaining 7 were inside 2". Needless to say I was more than pleased. With a good rest and not having to rush I believe this rifle will be very accurate. I'm already thinking scope options.....
  7. Since you have not shot this yet, a word of caution. The 16" barrel allows for a larger than normal blast wave (Hence my earlier comment). You may want to make sure people are not right up on you when you fire. I used to have a sporterized Mosin M44 with a 16 1/4 barrel, the shock wave from that was huge. I'm guessing this will be pretty similar/ maybe a little more.
  8. Haven't shot it yet, hope to do so maybe tomorrow at our dept. qualification.
  9. Hello. After stalking this site for a year or so and debating the Saiga .308 conversion, here I am and here it is. I've been wanting one for a few years but couldn't turn loose of the $ for a converted one and wasn't sure if I wanted to do the conversion myself. But I picked this one up at a local shop that did the conversion for waaayyy under what I could have done it for. I believe other than them taking it out for a test fire, it's pretty much new. As you can see it has the Tapco forend and a CAA buttstock. I haven't shot it yet, but I'm thinking I want a standard non-collapsing stock
