  1. OK, I will take the caining for my post, but when you wlak out into your yard, and by the fricking way, we just built a new house, had the yard landscaped, and the "friendly neighbors" have too many dogs to be able to feed them or properly maintain them. I and others on our road have asked them to keep their dogs in their own yard, many times, but when their dogs think it's OK to knock over our garbage cans and have a feast, at my exspense, and they owners tell me to clean it up myself, you may be right, I should shoot the owner and give the dog a good ass whipping. And when my wife walk out o
  2. Mines good out to 100 yards, especially at 6:00 a.m. when I haven't had enough coffee and shooting with only 1/2 eye open. Just ask my neighbors who are now missing 3 dogs that where tearing up our garden and crapping in our yard. Less than 100 yards, my s308 makes one hellofa mess. DON'T shoot them out the bedroom window with the S308, if they are in the driveway, #1 the wife will jump 5 feet out of the bed, bitch and raise hell, #2 the mess on the concrete, and the bullet tends to leave a "mark" when it exits the depositor of the big terd, #3 you'll be late to work because you have to haul i
  3. I bought my wife the Rock River AR-15 for Christmas, and it's one sweet shooting gun, now she wants the Beta mag for it. But I like my saiga 223 and 308 and 410 and 20. The saiga is a lot more simplier to take apart and clean, and to me shoots just as good, because if I want to do long range shooting, the armalite AR-50 maybe her next present, or maybe a Jake Brake for the truck.
  4. I used a piece of 3000 PSI pipe. Had to grind and buff until I got it to just where the bolt would clear it. When you start getting close, spray it with lay out die to see where it's hitting, and then again when you chamber a round to see where the bullet starts to ride up, I put a tiny notch there to help it. Shot another full clip last saturday to shut up the thumper, not a jam 1.
  5. I bought 3 of the 50 round Galils from CDNN, didn't have to touch them, other than loadem up and start shooting, but my gun also has a bullet guide to help.
  6. Go with the 50 rounders on CDNN, add a bullet guide and be done with it. My 3 50 rounders feed with no problems. The plastic mag I have has reinforcement inside the plastic, but it has jamed at times. Never a jam with the steel mags, even with emptying one as fast as I could into the front yard.
  7. Neighbors HELL, If cycling a round by hand is going to scare them, you live too close. My 308 is what I use to shut them up after 50 rounds of .223 don't work. It'll "dimple" the case, pull the bolt back and let it fly. It's funny how only 8 rounds of the 308 has that kind of effect.
  8. No Mods to the Galil mags. As someone here posted on another thread about me using the Galil mags, they had slop from side to side. YES, they have a little bit of side to side wiggle, but when I move the mag from one side to the other, the most I see is about .060. Remember that I'm near sighted in one eye, and far sighted in the other. NO BS about that, and I build compressors and vacuum pumps that run as close as .0015 clearances. Getting Old SUCKS. But I don't think that that little bit of "slop" is worth worring about, I ain't running thru the woods hunting anyone, just siting on the poarc
  9. I want a Saiga 50 caliber That would cure all my coyote problems and also asshole drunk nieghbors about 1 mile down the road. Since we are up on a hill, I'd have a clear shot, well almost, but the first shot should take out the pine tree and the second one take care of business. Maybe the third one would hit his "lab" and make one hell of a boom. And when the police get here, I'd be at the hospital having my shoulder pieced back together, and arm reattached. Hey, there's no harm in wishing is there?????
  10. That's why I used the 3000 psi pipe and "buffed" it down until the bolt just cleared. Pain in the rear, but it's better than the standard 150 psi pipe. I'm also using the Galil mags, NOT CLIPS, as I was corrected for saying, but mine are 50 rounders and so far, no jams. Got them new at CDNN for $29.99
  11. Cobra, I stand corrected about the wording. The K Var feed ramp will not work with a lot of work, it ain't worth the effort, because after an hour of milling, grinding, and fitting, I just said ---- it. The 50 rounders do have a little bit of side to side. I tried useing strapping material to get a rough idea of what is needed, but gave up. The clips shoot just fine as they are, because I don't plan on running thru the woods chasing the thugs around here. The message has already been put out, DON'T COME ON MY LAND WITH YOUR DRUGS and steal our stuff, you will be shot. I'll think about the new
  12. The mags are Galil, gettem at CDNN for $29.95. No mods done to them. Only the feed ramp added to the gun. Shot 44 rounds last night off the front pourch to shut up a "thumper" across the street, about 150 yards away. Not one single jam. I bought the 35 round plastic mag also, but it requires grinding to fit, the 50 rounders fit like a charm. I have 3 loaded and ready to go. For my feed ramp I used 3000 psi pipe, bolted it in, then polished it down until the bolt just cleared and put 2 small "notches" to help. Kind of like the feed ramps that K-Var sells.
  13. Why do all the grinding and cutting. I only added the 3/4" pipe feed ramp and installed a 50 round mag in my 223. By dumb luck, I stumbled onto the mags. they only cost $29.99 each. I don't know the pic limit size, or I would post the picture my gun I downsized the the pic
  14. I'm new here, but a Saiga freak, have the 7.62, 223, 410, & 20. I wanted to let people know that the Galil 35 rd mags will fit the saiga 223 with VERY little mods to the mag. I have noticed that most here have installed "bullet guides" and ground "feed ramps" at the bottom of the chamber, and best of all, Galil makes a 50 rounder. I finished mine today at work and came home, poped 12-13 rounds off the back deck, and not a jam 1, and I was shooting JHP, which I have seen some complain about giving trouble with hitting the bottom of the chamber. CDNN shows the 50 mags on their site for $29.9
