Silver solder is different than regular solder. It has a higher melt temperature and it is stronger. Normally you'll find it at a gunsmith supply house like www.brownells.com and don't forget the proper flux and proper soldering techniques.

That's true about the flash hider and brakes and 922. I assume it's either silver solder the ORIGINAL choke back on or do your 922 compliant conversion immediately also. Makes sense. What a PIA

I noticed this last night while measuring mine. I can only imagine they are measuring from the rear barrel extensions. That's over 18". I'm also prepared to weld on my flashhider to keep it well over 18".

My importers marks (RAAC) are all stamped on the right side, rear end of the receiver in a very large billboard pattern. No machining marks there like in the pic above. I have the little machined out area under the caliber marking also and my receiver is dated 2000!!!!!! No markings on the barrel or gas tube. Also, mine has an adjustable sight "bar" on top of the barrel/gas tube. Also, the choke is lableled 0,0??? What does THAT mean?? Do you think this first batch in is a bunch of "cast off", rejected stuff?
