  1. Since the USAS-12 doesn't have a gas adjustment,it only cycles high-brass (unless newer ones are different?).And,it's several pounds heavier. Also,I had the action on mine lock up completely once, from some neglect on my part (not cleaning in between shoots). That being said,if you can afford shooting only high power stuff,it's always an attention getter at the range.Honestly, the last time i shot mine, though, was right before I got my 1st. S-12!. If you could find some more oem mags, maybe you could cut and plastic-weld them together.I believe Cobra perfected this back in the day, before aftermark
  2. Tom,sorry to here about your health issues. My father has been patched up three times now at the Pittsburg VA,had both his neck arteries scraped out,and a huge anurism repaired. They took great care of him every time.At least you're in good hands there.
  3. Bounce12,sabot rounds are designed for rifled barrels. They are comprised of a bullet encased in a two-piece shell. The rifling imparts a spin to the bullet, the shell seperates and falls away upon exit from the barrel, and the bullet itself travels farther and more accurately than a slug.Excellent for hunting
  4. Congrats,Stephen!.I picked up my third last Nov. at a show in Harrisburg, but unlike you I got hosed on the price ($650!) Only paid $500 for my second, back before Obama was chosen for a prez candidate.
  5. 7.62x39,Pmags are made by Magpul. They function flawlessly (unlike some of Promag's products!). Oops,Wakko beat me to it!.Didn't notice the second page of replies But yeah, what he said!.
  6. I used to have trouble peeling my hard-boiled eggs, the shell would stick to the white like it was glued on.An old Mennonite woman told me to try letting the eggs reach room temp. before boiling-works like a charm.I've had perfect eggs ever since.
  7. Dinzag,Krebs Custom,or Rusmilitary.I'm biased towards Dinzag myself-he's a business member here,and a great guy,to boot!.
  8. Joe,Patriot,thanks for posting some pics.I had a great time. I didn't bring any high brass stuff to the shoot Sunday,but had previously tested Winchester 00/000 buck/slugs,Rem. 00 buck/slugs,Federal 00 buck/slugs,and Estate/Independence/Rem./Winchester game loads.Everything cycled flawlessly. Thanks,Mike!.
  9. That handguard is badass!.Nice work,cobra.
  10. Hey,Juggs,are the tees 100% cotton or cotton/poly blend?.
  11. Pretty sure I found this pic here on the Forum back when I 1st. joined. It looks like it might be a modified chinese drum, but who knows if it's a factory job or homemade. Not likely an izhmash item, though.
  12. madmilo,I had 4 u.s. parts on it at the time, think it was o.k..I liked how it looked also, but with the barrel being 22" to begin with,it made the overall length a bit much. louielouie,i'll get ahold of you later today,we'll work something out.
  13. louielouie, are you doing something like this? I cut the 'sporter' areas off, then filled it in with epoxy putty. It worked fine, but was a bit long for my tastes. I've since put a romy folder on it.
  14. One of the Forum's business partners,Mississippi Auto Arms, still had a couple hundred as of April 22,for 57.50 each.I ordered 4 on the 14th.,and had them a few days later.
  15. Joe,just wondering why it matters so much to you, this idea of 'proving' to everyone that Mike is wrong and you're right?.Even if his drum arrives after the date he stated,so what?.Do you honestly think that if you keep prodding him you'll somehow win this argument?.Take a break-wait and see. I generally don't assume someone's a liar unless they give me some reason to.I've had several business dealings with Mike since joining here (about 16 months ago) and he's always been a man of his word.Has he yet given you any real reason to doubt him?.If you came here and said "I work at the mold factory
  16. 18 yr. old vietnamese girl... Chris,is this a referrence to 'Bachelor Party'?.Very funny movie!.
  17. swampman, you lucky bastard!!!.I paid $400+ for my drum about 10 years ago.For that price,if you'd found it sooner (before s-12 drums were right around the corner) it would have been a great conversion project.I wanted to do it with mine, but couldn't bear to chop it up-now I don't have to (thanks,Mike!).
  18. Does anyone else like the name,"MD-20" ?. I do like this name. Like Skull said, it can be dual purpose. Great suggestion Eric. I thought it should be named after you,Mike, since you designed it,and all.And I liked the 'military ring' it has to it. 1911,do you remember 'Boons Farm Strawberry Hill' and 'Malt Duck'?.Two of my other favorites in High School!
  19. Sorry, tigerclaw,I didn't know the article wasn't yours. I agree,if a band of roving thugs intends to ambush and/or kill you, you're probably shit-out-of-luck.But,not everyone lives in the types of neighborhoods where these things happen.Like I said,in my city the drug problem has steadily increased over the last 5 years or so,but the population was already heavily armed beforehand (PA/Blair County is ccw friendly). So,most of the muggings are occuring where these guys live, they're not driving into nice neighborhoods and attacking people (if things keep getting worse, who knows?),as they know
  20. Can't wait for your drums to arrive, bro!.And i'd go with what's ready now, then maybe add a 3" model afterwards. Does anyone else like the name,"MD-20" ?.
