  1. I know what you mean about ammo.....I picked up some cheap steel cased Uly in .223 and so far so good, but after going from a 10/22 to a 7.62 Saiga and now this Bushy, my days of cheap plinking are history Thanks! I've heard pretty good things about Bushmaster, and I plan on keeping mine for quite some time... Thanks, I really like the looks of the Carbon's... what is the major difference from the standard Bushy M4? Just the composite lower? I'd love to handle one sometime just to see how they feel..they look sick! Jeff (teet)
  2. sweet! Optics are on the top of my list, along with a different PG and maybe a forearm rail system ..... She shoots like a dream, the recoil is like a .22 compared to my 7.62 Saiga Jeff (teet)
  3. I have several mags like the one on the left and they are Chinese...notice the lack of a rib running down the spine, thats the tell tale sign. I picked up a bunch from Copes when they were $13 a pop. I happen to like the no rib design, and they seem to be better constructed than some of the Polish, and Romanian ones I had in the past. Jeff (teet)
  4. Very nice.....gotta love gun porn Those pistol grips look pretty comfortable Jeff (teet)
  5. Thanks a lot!!! I'm pretty happy with it so far...I just got used to my Saiga, now this! Jeff (teet)
  6. Hey all, I did a little horse trading and came home with a "almost new" Bushmaster M4A3. The gentlman I picked it up from only fired 20 rounds through it, and it shows...it doesnt even look like that many have been down the pipe (dont worry...I still have my Saiga 7.62...but I'm down a Walther P99....ahem ) Jeff (teet)
  7. I have one on my 7.62, looks great, rock solid, easy to install.....3 thumbs up!!
  8. Here is a nice little clip that shows another method of cutting the hole, pretty informative series of videos, although hes doing the Saiga 12 its the same procedure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGGdal3cSRw&feature=fvwrel http://www.youtube.c...&feature=fvwrel Jeff (teet)
  9. Dont feel bad, it happens...I've done it before, except it was a hard case with foam inside. I dont think Id go too crazy with a wire brush, you risk removing the factory coating under the melted blob. I would heat it up a little if its not too close to anything plastic...just a quick blast with something and try scraping it off with a plastic putty knife. You may be able to scrape it off without heat....when I did it at the range, I just emptied another 30 rounder down range, and wiped it back off while the barrel was still hot. Jeff (teet)
  10. Thanks! I'm very happy with it so far. Jeff (teet)
  11. Here is my recent 7.62 restoration....K-Var warsaw stock, CSS Billet trigger guard, G2 Trigger group, Dinzag bullet guide, Tapco pistol grip and handguard, Mako vertical grip.....optics are next Jeff (teet)
  12. I would probably do it while it is apart for a few reasons....1) easier to clean out all the shavings when its apart. 2) it will be easier to set the rifle up on the drill press, level, if the pistol grip, and other components are not yet attached. 3) as long as you have a pre-ban mag to aid in alignment of the BG you dont need the furniture or fcg installed. I drilled and tapped mine with the rifle apart just because I didnt want to have to fish out shaving from every nook and cranny..its easier to blow the material out with compressed air and clean it out good while the reciever is empt
  13. I'm pretty sure on the 7.62 you dont need to remove any material from the fcg or selector...I havent watched the vid in a while, but I'm pretty sure that is for the saiga 12 only. I converted my 7.62 with parts from CSS a few weeks ago, and did not have to remove any material. Jeff (teet)
  14. As specified in his website's terms and conditions, Dinzag takes one to two weeks to process orders, and shipments only go out once a week. It takes a while, but I don't know if anyone's order has not come through. I just installed a BG from Dinzag a couple weeks ago. Shipping time for me was around a week and a half...be patient, its worth the wait. Top quality parts and service..... Jeff (teet)
  15. Good stuff. Good match and very tough. Wow I'm feeling poetic tonight... Nice rhyme, lol. When I restored mine, I blew out all the shavings with compressed air, and gave that area a quick wipe down with acetone. Scuffed it up slightly with a scotchbrite pad, then masked off the sides of the reciever. I shot it with some VHT high temp engine enamel, in satin black. Perfect match and it has been holding up well to abuse, handling, and cleaning thus far. Jeff (teet)
