  1. That is something that you would find out once its done. Do it then test fire and you will have your answer. I had my barrel chopped and added JTE comp brake to come up w. a total barrel length of 18.2", but since the brake is 4" l only have 14" of solid barrel. My gun that always ran everything started to FTE everything. It had 3 ports so l opened those 3 to 3/32, still didnt run. Polished internals, rails, bolt carrier etc, & it still didnt run. Went back added a 4th @ 5/64, still FTE'd. After adding a 5th port @ 5/64 gun runs like a machine. So l now have a total of 5 ports, 3 @3/32, an
  2. It's the usual rambling mix of wild speculation, ignorant opinion and tin-foil-hattery. Actually, TROMIX and every other vendor on this board are "PRAYING". We are all betting that the platform has a future, and we spend money every day investing in it. The armchair gunsmiths on this board are pretty funny sometimes. Fixed that for you. You mean the people that are going off of past history, as opposed to nothing more than hope because the platform makes us money? Like I said, I hope I'm wrong, but given what the ATF has done with shotguns of less stature than
  3. That was my point, that you feel so superior, that you have to say "l told you so" to satisfy the ego you've erected around yourself in your time in this business. Period. End of Story. Your tone never offended me, it was your superiority complex as relayed through your first post. As for your reply to mine, it was to be expected from someone who spouts like you. Wish you the best, enjoy your life, or whats left of it.
  4. OK so you are a gun god, and have put your time in. l can respect your place in the gun business, whatever that may be. I also respect the fact that you took time from your godly status to give an undeserved, albeit thorough reply to a whelp like me. It helped clarify your stance on the subject enough so that if l read it a few times, l could almost understand it. l'm definitely not arguing against any of those rebuttals of yours, THEY make some kinda sense. And while l cant argue that l just barely signed on, have a comical user name, and know shite compared to you, l would like to point out
  5. "That TIME is going to COME, and I can't wait to see you guys facing registration, destruction, or burial of your permanently converted guns. I hope you kept your original parts, and didn't weld up the pin holes." Getting satisfaction at the fact that responsible gun owners are losing the ability to convert their guns as they see fit SICKENS me worse than this study. You are one smug A$hole to to be touting that "l told you so" attitude when our liberties are on the verge of being abused AGAIN by the ATF. Why do you think your opinion is so God Damned important, as to be invigorated when
  6. I have the AR grip adapter trigger guard and l think it is very nice. Its very clean looking and is a nice hefty piece of metal. Plus the grip available to the AR platform are a little more diverse than the ones available to the AK.
  7. Could you please change your avatar, I couldn't seemed to read a fucking thing, thanks!!! Totally lost track of what this thread was about after one look at that avatar! A rather long, bordering on cross-eyed look. Damn.
  8. Sweet setup! My next gun will be something very similiar. l figure if l buy ammo for my ak (my mid-range gun), why not build an accurate ak-type sniper. Easier to bulk up on one type of ammo than several. So what kind of yardage have you tested her out on? l'd be interested to hear how long she is
  9. And that is how the addiction spreads!!! Everyone I've seen shoot a saiga12 for the first time immediately says "I have to get one of these!" I know l was smiling ear to ear my first time, and said the same damn thing.
  10. Is that the trigger guard for the AR Grips? I wish I would of know about that when I converted mine. -Now I am debating weather or not i should get the drum, or get the Magwell. any opinion on that? Yeah thats the trigger guard you're thinking of. I installed that because l liked the dpms panther grip. As for the magwell debate, thats a totally personal preference, and we all have to decide for ourselves. I chose the drums because l like higher capacity mags w. my guns, and figured eventually someone will come out with a magwell that works with them. Now if l could just get a L
  11. I'm really glad to hear that. I was like, NOOOOOO!!!! He went ape shit on 'em!!! Well I was surprised when l kept having to go back into her to open her up more, but l did it step by step, and fired in between every mod to make sure. 5 ports sounds kinda extreme to me too, but thats what it took to get her running like l want. The main thing l will say about it is that almost anyone can do these mods, but you have to do them in order like Paulyski says. Polish friction points 1st, check gas block hole, then if you have to open ports, take the time and do as minimal as possible
  12. I am not an expert by any means, but l followed the angle on mine. Remember, you only get one chance to do it right, so why screw around?
  13. I followed the same thread and just this weekend opened my ports, and ended up adding 2 more for a total of 5, 3@3/32 and 2@5/64 to finally get it running smooth. Runs like a champ now! These directions were very easy to follow, and helped me tremendously. I had help from my Bro', but if we can do it, almost anyone can! Good Luck to all those who DIY, its not as complex as you think, just take your time and use common sense. How short is your barrel? Did you do your extractor slot? Polish & profile everything including CORRECTLY profiling the hammer? Did you have a quad rail clamped

  15. Get the JTE brake and the drum. Monster brake is nice and all, but at the cost of a drum I'd go with the JTE. I have the JTE comp brake #1 and l love it!
  16. Very Nice!!! Definitely looks like a Copperhead! Good Work!!! I wonder if its possible to do the same kind of pattern in Cerakote?

  18. I have the JTE Comp. Brake #1 attached with the barrel chopped to 18.5" and l have to say it is a mean looking gun. Most people think its some kind of assault rifle when they see it for the 1st time. All my parts came from Greg at C.S.S. except the rear pistol grip. Overall l'm happy with the JTE brake, my gun shoots smoother, but that probably has more to do with all the added weight, and less to do with the brake.
  19. Yeah good idea, They are an A+ business. I'm sure if its something that needs taking care of, Greg will handle it.
  20. The Addiction Begins!!!!
  21. Ordering from them IS EXTREMELY HABIT FORMING! Some Might Say Downright Addictive!!! I may have to buy a new gun, just to feed my habit;-) I have been ordering parts for my Saiga12 from them, slowly over the last 6 weeks, and from my very first order l realized that Greg from C.S.S. doesn't do business like most people out there. HE BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY!!! 5 orders later, and lm convinced Greg is a Machine! It seems as soon as your order is placed on the website, it is already in the mail! My first 3 orders only took 2 days to reach my door, granted lm just outside of Nashville,
