  1. Nice! I'm pretty sure I have a copy of that 'Punisher Armory' in my collection. I'll have to hunt through and find it soon.
  2. SE Portland here. Any of you local guys know where I can take my S-12 to test all the mods I've been doing? I've been going out to the Mt. Hood national forest near Bagby, but it's one hellofa long ride.
  3. I did this to mine. I'm not sure how it would lie on your back, I use a one point sling. There are a couple things to be careful of: My internal receiver block is aluminum. If yours is also, I'd use a drill bit that is one size smaller than what is recommended for the tap. Aluminum is soft and this will allow the tap to make the deepest teeth possible. Also, when tapping aluminum be sure to use a bunch of oil. When you screw in your sling swivel be sure not to over torque it. Hope this helps.
  4. I like adding a small notch to the arm in the BHO where the spring rests. It's a very simple solution to keep the spring from sliding off and it's another excuse to get the dremmel out.
  5. You'll be way over that. I just put a 7.5" Ace stock on my 19" Saiga 12 with a folder and .5"recoil pad. It's 28.5" folded and just over 37" extended. Hope that helps.
  6. I load my home defense magazines to cycle 2 shells of #4 buck and then 1 rifled slug, then repeat, for as many rounds as the magazine will hold. I figure if 2 shells of #4 doesn't put someone down the slug should do the trick. I'd rather not have to get to the slug as it possibly brings the innocent into play. Now that I think about it, if get to the slug and I'm still shooting... It doesn't really matter what loads are next because at that point I'm going to unload on that hopped up demon!
  7. Wanted to add one more thanks to Erik on this post. It was instrumental to my gun running low brass. Going from $12 to $5 boxes of ammo will allow me to enjoy this gun much more often. I just added a para-cord wrap to my Ace stock. It's not as nice looking as Erik's as this was not as easy as it looked, but I think I ended up with something workable.
  8. I CC'd my Colt New Agent .45 for a couple years. I go to the range about once a week anyway, but that gun made me feel like I HAD to practice that often in order to shoot it accurately. I bought a 9mm sub-compact Springfield XD, a year ago, with the intention of my wife using it at the range. I liked it so much that I carry it every day now (sorry SweetTits, your tazer and pepperspray are better for you anyhow). It's extremely accurate, compact and comfortable, although a little on the thick side. It's also nice to have 2x the rounds of the .45... You never know.
  9. Factory Saiga 12 purchased Sept. 2010: -Ace 7.5 stock -Ace push button folder -Tromix DIY trigger guard -Tromix FCG -Internal receiver block (drilled and tapped it for the Ace sling swivel) -AK/Saiga interchangeable inserts grip -Magpul AFG angled fore-grip -CSS Tri-rail -Carolina barrel shroud -Gunfixers 4-way gas plug -Blackhawk 1 point sling -Cheap ass laser/light combo (borrowed from a nearby handgun) I still want to add a para-cord wrap to the stock like Erik Taylor's in his 'My Saiga 12 from start to finish' tutorial, a Tromix bolt on charging handle, a bunch of 20 rou
  10. I just put a 7.5 Ace on mine with the standard 1/2 inch pad, that it comes with, and an Ace push-button folder. I set it up to fold to the left (looking down from the top) which puts the larger protrusion of the hinge right in front of my face when I sight the weapon. I haven't shot it since the mod but I feel like it might tear my nose off if I'm not careful. I'm thinking I might have been better off with the 8.5. BTW, I'm 6ft tall with average length arms and shoulders. I'll take it out this weekend and test it. Black eyes = Should have gotten the 8.5.
