  1. Good thinking. I'll attempt to get some better photos of it for y'all to look at. I appreciate the help.
  2. It is converted I have not enlarged anything. It's a tapco G2 trigger. I've been told it's break in, but I wanted to make sure =P The arms of the hammer spring sit on the rear of the trigger with the length of the wires going over TOP the axis pin.
  3. As stated in a previous thread I am having trigger reset problems. The trigger will rotate downwards upon trigger-pull and catch the lip of *2* the hammer. I have to physically take my trigger finger and press forwards towards the front of the gun on the back of the trigger to reset it.e The hammer spring sits on TOP of the axis pin, is that the right position? The only reason for the hammer catching that I can think of is there's not enough downward pressure from the hammer spring to rotate the trigger back after firing.
  4. Very flexible and helpful during first and repeat suppressor buys
  5. I'm still stuck here wondering what the original point of the design was. I can't understand certain things I guess.
  6. thanks, I will be sure to examine it before i take it out sunday. will let y'all know if anything changes.
  7. Yes, I can't seem to replicate the issue unless I fire real ammunition. Is it a break in problem or what have you?
  8. Converted and shot the saiga, apparently I forgot a critical point. Fitting the tapco G2 trigger. It works fine, but after breaking it fails to reset. Would someone explicitly show me through a picture or tell me what part to file down in order for a clean reset of the trigger?
  9. I'm currently at fort lewis and was wondering if there was any saiga enthusiasts in the area who'd care to get together and mentor me through my current conversion FTF. And of course, a lengthy test fire in capitol Forrest afterwards. I'm in the infantry so we do on average 12-15 hour days + training weeks so it would have to be on a weekend.
  10. I picked up an R-1 & was very happy with everything about it. The battery life alone was impressive enough. Its compact light and was a steal in terms of price.
  11. (apologize in advance for yet another dumb question thread relating to conversions) I went ahead and browsed around trying to find the answer before posting but alas I couldn't. Please very explicitly identify and direct me where these are installed. I DID purposefully leave the bold hold open lever out so I'm pretty sure the smaller spring can be discarded? PS: Being slightly thick headed I need clear and concise and overly specific information, so don't worry about insulting my intelligence I thank all of you in advance for the informative posts in the past and encouragement
  12. this sounds like the only answer so I'll probably get one eventually, drop it in and hope for the best.
  13. I've been in Afghanistan. So, ya'll may have enlightened me but I still remain confused. Does K-var's work or am I looking at a whole new rifle for parts. secondly, does anyone have gauges for the saiga? Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  14. I was hoping to get a definitive answer on something During a legal dispute with someone who I am related to some years ago my entire firing pin assy. was taken from my saiga in some paranoid attempt to curb any escalation to the situation. Ignorant of the fact that this person had his own personal fire arms. I would very much like to know where how and what I can get a hold of to replace this very crucial part of my weapon.
  15. Is the carolinashooterssupply "ak/saiga gas tube" for attaching upper handguards a good one to use on a saiga 7.62? If it is am I missing any other equipment to attach the upper and bottom furniture? http://store.carolin...il?sfs=7a0cfec9 PS: anyone know a good place for a romanian pattern wire push-button stock? first 6 months of deployment my unit fought alongside them so it would be a nice sentimental touch to the saiga. If not, a left-side folding AKSU pattern stock. Can't seem to find either.
