  5. well i figured out my problem. before i had fired the gun i fitted a texas weapon system dust cover rail. THe bolt would make contact with the rail and keep it open. now that the rail is clearance it doesnt hold i anymore. Thanks for all the responses/ help guys. I learned alot from it and keep up the good work
  6. right now my bolt hold open spring sits as described. the long portion of the spring is resting on the floor towards the front of the receiver. The spiral wound section has the pin goin through its center and the little pigtail is resting on the brackets ear. It appears to be installed correctly. Yet when i cycle the action back it wont hold it open. can someone describe to me how the bolt hold open feature is supposed to work?
  7. i have a saiga (obviously) converted with a tapco g2 trigger kit. I have the texas weapon system rail installed. Last week i was shooting and the recoil spring collapsed due to guide wire/ button failure. Texas weapon system then sent me a new guide wire and button. I installed it and now my bolt hold open feature is no more?? I field stripped and everything seems intact accordingly? any thoughts?
  8. can i add an underfolder stock/kit to a saiga
  9. at first on mine i modified the mag latch and that worked, but since i live in california i had to install a bullet button. i installed the raddlock bullet button and there was no modification to mags
  10. well im finally ready to shoot the saiga for the first time ever.. ive lubed up all the contact points as per search function. Im getting ready to fire some yugo fmj. not sure if its corrosive or not cuz i bought it at a gun show. My question is... i bought some cleaner/lube at the gun show. I told the guy my application, he basically told me there all the same. I ended up buying some remington rem oil lubricant and some hoppes #9. Is that stuff ok for corrosive ammo? should i clean it immediately after shooting corrosive ammo?
  11. this is how it looks as of right now. a texas weapon system apparatus is on the way
  12. Modify the safety lever, why? I know you must mean BHO lever... If you intend to use the BHO, modify it. i was watching the carolina shooters supply tutorial videos and one says that if u hold the trigger down and cant cycle the safety u have to clearance it?
  13. how do i know if i have to modify the safety lever?
  14. well to today i put in some work on the saiga at work... I installed a bullet guide from carolina shooters. took about 15 minutes. i removed the whole trigger assembly and drilled out all the rivets. i had a hard time putting in the bolt hold open spring, but thats because i installed the old one and not the new one. oh well, will take it apart and finish it tomorrow. will try to add pics when done
