GSG5/522 Owners Chime In
saiganovich replied to Peckaldee's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I've both the GSG and a sig522...I am not particularly happy with the GSG, it's reliability is so-so even when kept clean. When it works, it's accurate. The Sig, I can't be any happier about. Eats through any ammo, all day every day and still works just fine after hundreds of rounds going through it per range day. -
Sig Sauer 7.62x 39 (556R)
saiganovich replied to poolingmyignorance's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I'm really interested in picking one up, hopefully SIG fixes the issues I've been reading about. I've a Sig522 and absolutely love how it handles...and since I've a ton of AK mags&ammo, I figure it'd make sense to keep it in the family. -
2nd time to the range with the stock S12, but this time actually shot a good amount of cheap ammo so figured I'd report my results. (Gas Piston on Setting #2) -First 25 rounds were Wallmart Winchester target load. All fired flawlessly. -50 Rounds Wallmart Federal bulk pack target load. All fired flawlessly. -25 Rounds of Winchester ammo again, same as the first time... every 3rd round or so it jammed on ejection. -25 rounds Rio Target load ( blue). All fired flawlessly. So basically, I'm staying away from winchester wallmart ammo and will just stick with the Federal ( it's like 100

if shtf what would you rather have?
saiganovich replied to gator1010's topic in Saiga Weapons - General Discussion
AR and a 9mm Glock for me. I love my AK & Saiga, but feel a lot more comfortable shooting an AR platform. Can't go wrong with either one... both AK and the AR are incredibly reliable, just go with what you feel more comforatble with. -
my utg quad rail fit with absolutely no issues ( I was expecting a few because it's not one of the "premium" priced ones)...was up and running in a few minutes

NYC metro area (yeah I know!) checking in!

trust me, if I could find a job elsewhere, I would move in a heartbeat!

I fall under HR218 as far as pistols go so I'm not too worried about that. Problem with NY is that there is the NY state law, the NYC law, and the Federal law, and somewhere along the lines most things seem to conflict with each law's interpretation in regards to firearms. I'll contact the PA State Police and let you guys know what they say!

Thanks! I'll try and give them a call and see what's what.

Here's the situation: I'm a NY resident and have 2 saigas & a few handguns that I'm interested in bringing down to PA to shoot every now and then since I have some family that lives down there and I'll be spending my weekends there anyway. Just curious as far as to what I need in order to bring the weapons down from NY to PA to shoot hassle free? Permit of any sort? I'm asking because I have no clue, NY/NYC is headache enough to figure out, and I'm totally clueless as far as PA goes. And while I'm at it, any well priced gun/ammo spots around Hawley/Fawn lake area? Thanks!
