  1. I havnt tried a vertical grip but I do use a afg for the purpose of indexing my hand but my gorilla arm's get my hands way out front on the forend letting me touch the barrel. I'm not referring to the gas tube cover, the quad rail does a great job of keeping my hands off that. I'm looking at the tubular shrouds that slip over the barrel and screw on the the choke threads. And perhaps a shoulder thing that goes up too......

  2. I've had my S12 for about six years now and have finally gotten tired of it burning my size XXL paws during rapid fire practice so I'm in the market for a shroud. I'd love some information about the various makes and models available and pictures of them installed would be great. Thanks for any help you all can offer!

  3. Hogue! I use them on everything I can. IMHO, most comfortable grip out there. If using a tapco PG nut, you'll have to either shim the nut up or remove material from the bottom of it. If you use the CSS trigger guard with integrated grip nut, the hogue grip has to have some material removed to accommodate the thicker trigger guard. But these are EASY fixes to use an awesome grip!

I also use the Hogue on everything I can. It fits my meat hooks perfect.

  4. Armchair Tactical looks good also. Just depends how much weight you want to carry, and if a one weapon only vest. Do believe the vest you shown would also be great for the AK 40rd mags I like so much. Looking at size, believe 4 to pouch.:smoke:

Strike Hard Gear makes a Chest Rig that holds the AK 40 rounders perfectly.

    Thanks for posting the vid.

What kind of holster is that on his chest? Anybody know?

That's a Blackhawk Serpa holster. I have one on my vest in the same location and would hard pressed to find a better setup for what I'm doing.

  5. Good question! I sent an email to Chaos asking this question after purchasing my upper rail and sights from Chaos. I never got an answer back. I observed that the 2-4 apertures vary in height and tried to see where they would group with slugs at various ranges out to 100yds, but found that the rounds were impacting 2-3 feet high, using Federal LE low recoil.

Sorry for digging up a old thread but my CHAOS extended quad with sights also shoots 2-3 feet high with slugs. The rail is straight and level and gas block etc. seems to not be canted or in any other way out of wack. Has anyone come up with a definitive fix for this issue other than installing optics?

Don't get me wrong, I do love my Chaos sights, but was disappointed that there were no specs for the other apertures for a specific round. If anyone comes up with a round that works with the sights, let us know! Until then, I'll be looking to put on a red dot when I can afford it.

  6. I just got home and opened the gun up. It took all of two seconds to verify that the right spring leg was indeed the culprit. It took another five minutes of tweaking with a leathman to get it bent so that it requires a dental pick to get it off the trigger bar now. I won't get to shoot today but I have no doubt its fixed. Thanks to everyone for the great help and is the reason this is the only firearms forum I'm on.

  7. With the spring legs both wrapped back around the hammer (so they don't touch the trigger) does the trigger have full unrestricted movement back and forth? Sometimes they can be barely rubbing the front of the trigger hole and cause the same issue.

I hadn't thought of that but I will look when I get out of work. The trigger feels smooth and free though and the fact that it only seem to do it on buckshot which shouldn't make a difference really has me confused.

  8. Sounds like your hammer spring may be slipping off the right side of the trigger bar and it's losing spring pressure for the return travel / reset. Look at it and see if it has and is stuck to the inside. If so take it and put a slight outward bend on about the last inch of the spring leg, forcing it to stay to the outside against the BHO.

That was the first thing I looked at and the spring is were it should be. When I did the conversation I bent the spring leg to hold the BHO firmly against the side of the receiver and the legs are solidly hooked on the bar.

  9. During a recent trip to the range my once dead reliable S12 started giving me grief. I ran about fifty rounds of bird shot followed by thirty slugs with no problems at all. I switched to #4 Buck and every few rounds the trigger would not reset. The gun was ejecting and feeding fine but the trigger was getting hung internally but a light tap on the trigger would let it travel forward. I tried opening it up to spot the issue but even jiggling the dust cover was enough to free it up. I can't duplicate the problem manually and am at a total loss. The gun has been converted and has seen a thousand rounds or more. Any help would be great.
