  1. Paratroopers are harder to find, plus it accepts AK mags from the factory. I think it's a good deal, go for it
  2. They should have sent you the newer model without ANY cost. How were you supposed to know they had a newer model of the push button folder without trying to get the defective part fixed? I definitely don't want to think a $100 part I bought won't be good 2 years down the road. At least Midway will give you a credit, that's some pretty rough customer service.
  3. I have K-Var furniture on my Saiga, the lower handguards have a heat shield. Personally, I think that both the factory and K-Var handguards get hot after 120 rounds of semi-fast firing; hot enough to let them cool for a few minutes.
  4. That's the one I used. I trashed the first blade, but after taking my time with the 2nd disc, the shroud cut loose nice and easy.
  5. I love the Plum K-Var furniture on my Saiga. I think they're about as good as you can get for the price
  6. I've never had an accidental discharge with the G2 I've got. I've also never had an accidental bumpfire. I would rate my trigger to be 3-4 pounds already. The safety should be up if a round is chambered and you are not shooting downrange. Even if an accidental discharge happens, the gun should be pointed in a safe direction so it doesn't have a chance of hitting anyone. I don't mean to be rude either, but if all the rules of gun safety are followed, the chances of an accidental discharge hitting someone should be slim and none.
  7. The rounds I loaded into some mags have light rust on them, the rounds in the box don't. Never had a problem shooting the rusty rounds at the range.
  8. I miss the old layout, but this one is growing on me. It'll be nicer when all the bugs get worked out
  9. My favorite food that no one I know eats is sushi. I have never had any prepared with raw meats. I would also like to try sashimi. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sushi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sashimi ETA: I also want to try Fugu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugu
  10. If you haven't already removed the FSB; you can use a $10 pipe cutter at Lowe's and cut the shroud on your existing FSB. You shouldn't have to replace the factory FSB if you cut the shroud and have factory threads. http://forum.saiga-1...post__p__644024 http://store.carolin...-308/Categories Hope this helps.
  11. NIce What color is the rifle painted?
  12. I used a $10 pipe cutter from Lowe's. I picked up an extra pack of blades because I had never used a pipe cutter before. I trashed the first blade, but by the second one, I got the hang of it. Tighten, then rotate 2-3 times, tighten, repeat. Make sure that the cutting wheel follows the direction of rotation, not lead. Go slow and that shroud will cut loose; you'll feel it twist when it breaks free. Good luck. ETA: Welcome to the Saiga forums
  13. Item was received super fast, and in excellent shape. Thanks for the good deal MARKW1 I will definitely do business with you again!!
  14. Yes, I have 2 mags that I filed the tab on. Both fit loose in my Saiga after I filed the mag catch on my rifle. They still passed all function tests.
  15. After filing you mag catch, the mags will sit a tiny bit lower. Have you installed a bullet guide?
  16. Got mine today, very nice fit, and finish. My barrel already has all the handguard notches; putting this on was easier than the other bolt-on retainer I have.
  17. Yes lol, well I am looking at the ak mag page. Where should I be looking? Thanks. No bakelites. http://www.aimsurplu...x?item=MAK47E30
  18. The saddest thing about it is: If the California government remains un-checked; I honestly see this being implemented by 2020. The residents of California need to vote these gun-control people out of office.
