  1. I was about to give up on mine, but watching the install video done by CSS, I saw he used a pretty heavy punch to start it out. I had just about ruined the little short punch that was in my set, so I has an old heavy center punch. I didn't feel like going out to the cold garage to the bench grinder so I just filed the tip flat to about the same diamter as the small punch I was using (I didn't want the sharp point as that would expand the endaking it even harder to remove), and filed a slightly longer taper on the end. 2. Also new to posting here. I've had a saiga 12 for about 2 years and have just started doing my own conversion. I've finally got all the parts I need for it, and have git to the point of removing the old fcg parts. Now just two hold-ups, blasting the receiver to repaint (duracoat maybe, sounds easier than cerakote), and polish the bolt. I will be studying that thread so I don't screw it up. The rest looks pretty easy.
  3. Is Pauly's Steeling still doing the bolt work? No response to any e-mails or PMs, so it looks like I will be doing this on my own too. Well I see that he did post on Feb 14th and it looks like maybe he is not taking on any new work until he clears his backlog. So I will still probably end up doing this on my own.
