For direct CNS hits it doesn't really matter what kind of cavity it creates on the way. In the event that the round doesn't hit the CNS or some vital organ, a larger wound cavity will cause more bleeding. Any good expanding SD round will more or less do the same job of accomplishing that while at the same time reducing the risk of a complete pass through and hitting an unintended target. The ability to take accurate follow-up shots if needed is more important than the otherwise inconsequential differences between a Gold Dot and and an HST or a 9mm and a .45*. Finally got a Glock

Also have a Glock that isn't my absolute favorite handgun, but one area where they really shine (especially in 9mm) is that low bore axis. Beautiful for follow up shots. -

Is that a problem with recent lots or all GT? I have a decent amount of it but it was all purchased a few years ago -

The Tavor feels like you're firing a plastic rear-heavy VCR with bad ergonomics and a shitty trigger. My buddy has one and regrets buying it. -

First World Dilemmas

If it were me, I'd invest in upgrading current weapon systems (triggers, sights, decent stock of match/defense ammo, etc) before adding new firearms. But that's just me; you may already have all that taken care of, in which case I'd vote for the SLR. -

Damn dude, that sucks. What's the total damaged parts list? It may still be worth buying replacement parts for it if they won't cover it under warranty. -

Who gets the parts that aren't rejects? I don't think they all are. Some premium rifles don't have CHF in the description, from what I understand those are different. I've been hearing PSA will mark items as blemished if they are overstocked just to move them faster. Not sure if its true though but multiple sources have reported this.FN also makes the chrome-lined non-CHF barrels for PSA. For example, items 30795 and 29607 (which I own). -

Had my PSA middy out yesterday and it ran WPA 100% without issues. Probably a combo of BCM using using smaller gas ports and my friend running a heavier (ST-T2) buffer than me that caused the issues. -

I had never seen an issue with a midlength until yesterday. My buddy's BCM middy kept short-stroking on WPA. Previous to that it had been 100% reliable with brass ammo for the past 4 years. My 10.5" SBR ate it no problem though. I'm curious to try running WPA through my PSA middy now to see how it runs. -

No, other than the fact that I've seen some of those kits on sale for less. Item 7781383 is actually a pretty nice deal though. And yes, all you'd need is a lower and a sight/sights. -
Olympic Arms is Closing
BigChongus replied to Ronin38's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I always considered Olympic Arms to have a pretty decent rep. And they had a good selection of different chamberings for their AR rifles/pistols. It is a shame to see them go completely out of business. Oh I honestly believe they're good products, but whenever they get brought up there's always grumbling of some sort, which is probably based on something insignificant that happened to a handful of people and got blown out of proportion. I've found the same thing to be true for companies like DPMS and Del-Ton. The funny part is that whenever someone has a complaint about a defect -

Pretty simple. Other places are offering similar or better parts and firearms for less. Also, they have sort of a DPMS-esque stigma about them, regardless of whether or not it's actually warranted.
