  4. Someone SERIOUSLY needs to get something set up! Maybe an email list or something? I would be glad to bring a few bulk packs of shells and some drinks. If we need to chip in a little cash for food or whatever I would be OK with that. Does anyone have property or the means/time to set up an event?
  5. Mike, you are awesome. It might sound weird, but I see a lot of Ayn Rand's archetypal business hero in your posts. Keep up the great work. Great products take time to perfect and I don't mind waiting for yours.
  6. I think Cobra modifies them to make them look like the older style Saiga 12K, so I'm sure it can be done. They look pretty sweet.
  7. Thanks. It's good to know I will be safe using it. It just seemed a little weird to have the barrel constrict once, open up at the start of the choke and then be constricted again!
  8. I've had my 2009 19" threaded S-12 for a couple of years now and I never bothered to check the diameter at the muzzle. The receiver isn't marked for a choke, so I always assumed it was a cylinder bore. I bought a choke adapter for fun and noticed that the where the choke met the muzzle, it was greater in diameter than the muzzle. I just measured my muzzle diameter to be .7165", so it does have a fixed choke. My question is, what are the dangers (if any) of firing the gun with the choke adapter and a choke installed?
  9. If you are set on the classic AK look, check out Cobra's: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/5178-cobras-aks-12-conversion-details/
  10. The Polytech 7.62 mags I have seen do have three holes. The .223 mags look like they only have one. This isn't a particularly nice quality mag compared to my metal 7.62 mags or my circle 10 5.56 mags. I think the only thing that makes these desirable is that they are the only ones that function in Polytech .223 guns. I also found an excellent thread on identifying mags here: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13606358
  11. I know, AR mags aren't all that beefy compared to the circle 10's. I just like having a lot of mags, and the cost of circle 10's adds up ( I already have 5). They are awesome mags and they function well in my gun. I will definitely have to test out a gun with the adapter before I decide to buy one.
  12. Circle 10's are awesome. I have a Bulgarian SLR, so they fit perfect. I guess it is just a matter of figuring out what works in your gun. I have been considering getting the MSA AR mag adapter just because of the greater number of magazines to choose from and AR mags are for the most part much cheaper than AK .223 mags.
  13. I thought it might be a Galil at first, but the ribs on the side of the Galil mags I have seen always go to the bottom of the mag. The spot welds on the plates on top are also in different places.
  14. Nope, Galil mags are quite a bit different. I am pretty sure I have this pinned down now as a Polytech .223 mag.
  15. Thanks for mentioning Polytech. I looked on gunbroker and it looks almost exactly the same. They want stupid money for them though, $100+!! The seller says that .223 Polytechs only take Polytech mags. I paid $20 at the flea market thinking I was giving the guy a little too much! I think I will hold off grinding this one to fit and find someone with a Polytech that needs it. Edit: I just looked at some more pics online and most of those mags have "Poly China" on the floorplate. Maybe some don't though.
