  1. Not sure about the boltface. I will check. My thinking is, why shoot dented cases when I don't have to.
  2. Glad it works for you. Tape is cheap.
  3. True, but my hackery only cost $8 including the top cover. If you can find the valmet buffer at all. I am not selling my buffer, just showing what I did. Any Euro AKM cover except Yugo will fit. The cases don't hit the gun at all with the buffer.
  4. I hope posting this link is okay. I tried to upload different ways. http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=195022
  5. I would love to use my circle 10 mags but i do not want to alter them. The Israeli orlites run 100%. Maybe I will sacrifice one of my clear Cirle 10 and try it.
  6. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=3c-fS8-jrRE SAIGA 5.56
  7. I have both the converted Saiga. 223, and the SLR 106fr. The Saiga is a better performer, more accurate, and has a heavier barrel. With the Dinzag bullet guide, and Galil mags, the gun is as reliable as any AK. I love that Damn thing, and would sell the 106 first if pressed. Tu If you are looking for a gun to shoot, buy the Saiga. If you want a gun to impress your buddies for looks, buy the SLR. Or, you could get the saiga, let your buds shoot it, and they will be impressed.
  8. Mine requires removing the interdiction tab and filing center support for Bulgarian mags. The GALIL orlite mags were a 20 second mod and have ALL worked 100%. So far, no reason to mod the gun for circle 10 mags. I really like my Saiga as is.
  9. I have about $600 into my Saiga .223. Mine was partially converted by PRK, (trigger moved forward, trigger guard rivited, old pin holes welded, refinished). I added the Dinzag bullet guide, removed sheath and threaded the barrel, added phanton, and added the Surefire M83 handguards, converted to Galil mags. The gun is damn accurate and has a thicker barrel than any Bulgarian or Romanian you will find in 7.62, 5.45, or .223. If you simple did not care about the platform and wanted a great gun to shoot the hell out of, the Saiga is the one. The SLR106fr is a SLR106fr and to some, lik
  10. With bullet guide I run orlite Galil mags flawlessly. I have given up on metal mags.
  11. that phantom flash looks mean on the end of the barrel, are those the polymer galil mags? Yes. Galil Orlites. Very, very small modification in consort with a Dinzag bullet guide and you are off and running.
