  1. Rick Reese, owner of New Deal Shooting Sports in Deming, NM, was recently arrested along with his wife and two sons. They are accused of selling weapons to people who then smuggled them to Mexico. All of their property, including their land, home, business, vehicles, bank accounts, personal belongings, and more have been seized by the government. Seized by the BATFE, the same people that ran gun smuggling operations into Mexico and lost them, as well as resulting in FEDERAL OFFICERS being killed. The BATFE need the Reeses as sacrificial lambs to cover their own illegalities (GUNWALKER and
  2. For the $250 price tag what is actually done the the weapon? Is this simply labor or are parts included?
  3. Thanks for the replies, everyone.
  4. Is there more than one kind of Orlite? I am asking if these will work in the Saiga .223. are these what others have used. Is there more than one kind of Orlite? I am asking if these will work in the Saiga .223. are these what others have used.
  5. Have a SG 2011 Spring Shooting Supplies catalog and they have 30 rnd Nylon Orlite Mags for $13.97. Are these the Orlites everyone is using in the .223?
  6. Finished a conversion om my S308. Bought FCG and parts from CSS and received them in 3 days. Went pretty smoothly after reading all the posts here about it. Only problems were with the Shepherds Crook (had to make a little bend up at the long end) and the BHO spring. The BHO spring caused a number of f*****g expletives, but finally figured a way. Polished the FCG and it is smooth and light. I expect that this is the 1st of many to come. The next will be a S223, then I have 4 friends that have Saigas in .223, 762X39, and 2-12's and am sure they will want theirs done. Sorry, no pictures, no came
  7. Ordered the parts to convert my S308 from css. It is the first and then the S223.
  8. I thought it was the dis-connector, but it is the sear that the hammer is catching on. On my wife's .223 there is no interference, but on my .308 the hammer will not lock in cocked position every time. What do I do?
  9. No, it is not converted yet. I just want it to work until I have the time and parts to convert it.
  10. The trigger on my new Saiga .308 is resetting about every other round. I yanked the bolt out an cycled the trigger back to check it out. Th trigger contacts the dis-connector with a lot of resistance, it does not slide past smoothly. Has anyone had this experience? I am going to order a conversion fcg in the future, but would like the rifle functional until then. I am not sure if just polishing would cure the problem, not sure how much contact is normal.
  11. Just bought the wife a new Saiga .223. Studied the internals to figure function and what and how to remove the fcg. Took everything out and polished the parts and then reinstalled them. Even used a length of para cord fiber to pull down the BHO spring. Almost no cussing, much easier than I thought after reading all of the threads on the topic. Mounted a 4-12 Bushnell on a side mount for now. A T6 is coming, at present stock length is too long (she is only 5' 2" and 95 lb). Then a conversion.
  12. Sighted in the new Saiga today. Took a few rounds to hit paper at 25 yds, but made it finally. I have old propane tanks setting at 100 yds, 150 yds, and 200 yds. and could hit all of them. Wife only weighs 95 lbs and was hitting the tanks. Later after I have purchased more ammo I will sight at 100 yds and 200 yds to get true zero. Wife and I shot Appleseed targets to day (she has a CZ with trigger work done on it and I have a Savage MK II FV) and she kicked my butt shooting rifleman.
  13. Today I am going to mount a scope (Bushnell 4X12) and see what I can do. Have to start thinking about conversion soon after I acquaint myself with the new girl.
  14. I just traded one of my AK's in for a Saiga 308. Told myself I had enough weapons and I was through, yeah right. AK's are not accurate enough for longer range work and went through almost all the archives here and decided I needed the Saiga. A couple of friends just bought a H&K 91 (Cadillac of assault rifles) and we shot them today (we have our own range with pistol range, Appleseed course, and up to 300yd range). Both H&K's had FTE and FTF. Neither weapon had been cleaned prior to shooting and the ammo was Brit linked with poly coating. The coating is a no no in these rifles. Tomorro
