  1. Mr. Qind, That sir is a masterpiece, worthy of all the complements you are bound to receive Upon completion of the finish. nyclu3
  2. Just came across this on the news... http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/03/15/ap/national/main6301777.shtml?tag=contentMain;contentBody Disturbing trend of Mexican drug gangs violating and murdering Americans. With spring break comming up and no way to stop the kids from heading there, what is the solution for this? Do we rely on the Mexicans to police themselves or do we step in to address the issue? People who live along the border see this first hand. I used to see it when I lived in L.A. but when does it stop, when they reach New York? Just thinking out loud. nyclu3
  3. OK Thanks. Not worth the trip out there then. Maybe if they sold them closer to home at the same price, I might bite but not that far away. nyclu3
  4. Arik, The tired M1 Garands, were they beat up or parts guns built on new receivers? nyclu3
  5. Wow, Indy, I wish I had the money to take that off your hands... nyclu3
  6. I wanted something unique at the time and also wanted to give my business to someone here on the forum. He used to be around more often. His handle here is BattleRifleG3 or BRG3. He custom made my set to my specific configuration desires. He is also very reasonable in price. This is what I came up with at the time. My wife stained it with MinWax Poly stain. I'm cheap and couldn't afford to have someone else do the work on my gun so I learned everything here on the forum. Now you all can get the bolt on stuff from the many vendors here. Use the resources we have here on the f
  7. BRG3 is just the man you want for your Saiga wood needs. Yes, the AK wood buttstock does fit the S-12 but the fron handguards do NOT fit without major modifications to your gun and/or wood. He will make it to your specifications. Good luck. nyclu3
  8. Wow, I wish I had the tools to do that kind of radical transformation. Looks most excellent, keep us abreast of your progress please. I always wondered about the stability of those underfolder stocks. Great job. nyclu3

    Metal Putty

There is a two part epoxy putty mix that we used to use on the submarines' hole penetrations that was metal based and when cured could be machined. The stuff I think was called Capastic or something like that but I don't know if it is commercially available. But I also agree with most here in that welding is the best option. Just my 2 cents. nyclu3
  11. Just think, 20 rounds of these in your MD 20 drum... against a .25 Raven or Davis that the bad guys usually have! nyclu3
  12. Great bike! Hope you wear your full leathers now when you're at speed! Have you ever done a mountain bike like this? nyclu3
  13. Have a great B-Day Max and Mrs J! Hope you both live long and prosper... nyclu3
  14. Way tolive life the way you're supposed to, pedal to the metal all balls out! Nice S-12 also. nyclu3
  15. Reminds me of a Ruger 1022 on steroids made up to look like an AR. Why can't someone mock up a shotgun on the action of a Garand or M14, aka Mini-12 or Mini 20 style? Anything as long as it's engineered and made in USA. Just my 2 cents, what do I know, I'm just an Electrician in this world of gun gurus and wizards... nyclu3
  16. Wow, I like the wood on your S-12! Do you mind telling me who or where you aquired the set? nyclu3
  17. I think I'm to blame for this one. I put the front sight on backwards for purely cosmetic reasons. The reason I did this was 1) to maintain the existing straight line going up the gas block into the front sight. 2) Most guns I see have the angle facing the rear of the gun. Look at a AR-15 sight, or a standard AK front sight... Flat on the front, angle to the rear. I wanted to follow that design and look a little more. *I still have the rear sight on in the proper orientation* The drum should lean foward. The traditional method of installing the front sight would be to have th
  18. Pull all our guys and gals out then... Just send in three or four SSBN Ohio Class Tridents with some SSNs to back them up. Empty all tubes on all subs and say goodnight everyone, game over. Or maybe some B52s to carpet bomb the place. War is hell and everyone is affected. Those with the bigger, better weapons win. Just venting, nyclu3
  19. Thanks for the opportunity Mike. 1983, 1989, 2565
  20. Is it me or is the front sight on the black one backwards? Didn't they catch this in the factory QC before it went to shipping? I'll just stick with my S-12 and S-20 for the money I paid for both, I'll just get another Saiga. nyclu3

What else do you need for your conversion? I have some SAW Tapco grips and some pistons. Let me know. nyclu3
  22. Is that a P 51 C Mustang with D-Day stripes on the bed and where did you get that kit? Very nice. nyclu3
  23. Whatever way you like it is right, as long as it's straight and the weld is good. Good Luck, nyclu3
  24. Judging from the posts here, the new MW2 looks good and probably plays great. I played the original MW on pc but when they came out with World at War, I went back to WW2 to the ToB servers because they have older players like me who just want to relax and play the game with no one taking things personal. I usually play while viewing this forum. They do have a Vietnam mod for the game that has weapons from that era but without the goodies of todays guns. I'll just play there if I want to weild my AK or M-14. The company also did away with map mods so I will stick to the old breed version.
