  1. I have the polymer hinged stock he shows here. It is solid!
  2. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/64951-ak-74-front-sight-blockdone/page__fromsearch__1
  3. I would not call my issues that I have had real problems for the gun or the magazines. I would call them fit issues with the magazines. Getting the front of the mags filed just enough to fit. I would rather file a little at a time to make them fit rather than too much and it wiggle or not feed right because of it. I would call the problems I have servicable and not a fault of the gun. The circle 10s are great, I just need to make them great for my gun.
  4. Are the AK and Saiga versions the same except for the Saiga having the extra pieces and screws for the Chaos HG retainer?
  5. I had some issues initially with one of the legs of the main spring jumping off the trigger bar. I bent the one leg out a little and re-positioned and it is fine (see Carolina Shooter Supply vid for the tip). I have had issues with Russian Hollow points not feeding right with Tapco Galil Mags and to a lesser degree the Bulgarian Circle 10s. I am working through my Bulgarian mags and filing the fronts down a little at a time. I think I am 100% on the 4 I have with the Russian hollow points. I think the Russian steel cased stuff is not as hot, so I do not think the bolt carrier comes back q
  6. I am interested in your rail/handguard system. The one piece I am not too sure about is how does the HG secure to the forward part of the barrel. I can see your answer to the AK handguard retainer, but I cannot tell how it is tightened agains the barrel. Is it just a tension thing of pushing the 2 halves together against the barrel? Does it fit tight? Also, I installed a DIY modded HG retainer on my rifle. Will the notch I cut in the barrel have fit issues with the Chaos HG retainer? Can I use that instead of the Chaos version? It looks like the Chaos HG retainer has a screw whe
  7. Hey, I have not been on here for a little bit. I started following this thread again, since it has been a while, so i will get notified if you have more questions. I was pretty scared to drill for the pins. It was actually a non-event for me. I would love to say that it will be for you, but since I have only done it once, I cannot say for certain. There is quite a bit of metal "meat" on the pn holes. The metal is pretty hard. It is certainly harder than your regular steel like you would get from the hardware store. The good news is that for me this acted as a guide to drill out the
  8. Has anyone tried their bullet guides? How do they compare to Dinzags? I am curious. I am still woring on getting my last Bulgarian Circle 10 mag 100%. I am curious about what would happen if the bullet guide was just a tad taller. If I recall the Dinzag one I have it is fairly soft metal too. Just a thought thanks!
  9. hve you seen the new ones at Atlantic. They have a 74 style FSB and handguard retainer.
  10. Have you seen the Mako Group's side folding stock with the cheek rest? I am getting one tomorrow. I am totally excited about it. I will post when I get it. It is a drop in. There are 2 vids on youtube for it. They have 2 styles. One has the Galil hinge, and the other a polymer. The polymer can be had for $89 at Natchezss.com. I'll post it when I get it on.
  11. I have used and have not used. I cannot say that it makes a difference. I thought it might have been causing issues, but I do not think it was the cause. I am going to leave mine in there until I decide to take it out again.
  12. Tapcos are great on FMJ. I have had issues with HP rounds though. Since most people shoot FMJ at the range, that is fine.
  13. I have almost decided (that sounds authoritative doesn't it), that it might be an action issue rather than a bullte issue. It may be a combination of the 2 actually. Follow this logic... I think it may be the bolt carrier is dragging a bit, and slowing down before closing. When I hand cycle, there are no issues, but I am also pulling the carrier all the way back. If the TULA is a little underpowered, or inconsistent as you say, this could cause the bolt to not go all the way back or back far enough. When I have had jams, I can often pull the handle back and re-cycle the round that got
  14. OK, so I bought an AK cleaning rod and the threads do not match the cleaning kit, nor does it fit under the barrel (tad too long). Yes, I have a handguard that will let it through, and I have an AK-74 FSB with Brake, that should accomodate it. For those of you that have done this, what did you get, and how long was your cleaning rod? Thanks!
